Full Time Fixed Term (This position is offered on a fixed term basis linked to a parental leave backfill)
$118,498.15 Gross per annum + Superannuation

About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the Community Wellbeing unit at Glenelg Shire Council and contribute to the delivery of strategic initiatives that support the health, inclusion and wellbeing of the municipality.

Reporting to the Director Community Services, the Manager Community Wellbeing provides leadership across a diverse portfolio including youth services, recreation planning, health and wellbeing promotion, community engagement, access and inclusion and strategic planning. The role also leads the development and implementation of key strategic documents such as the Council and Wellbeing Plan, Community Vision and Recreation Master Plans.

Working closely with internal teams and a wide network of regional partners, the position plays a critical role in strengthening collaboration, securing funding opportunities and ensuring services and programs respond to community needs. The successful candidate will lead a dedicated team while contributing to Council’s broader strategic priorities and long-term community outcomes.

What you need to Succeed

• Contemporary leadership and management skills in Community Services
• Strategic planning, policy development and project management experience
• Financial management, grants and funding administration experience
• Highly developed communication and stakeholder relationship skills
• Strong interpersonal skills: positive, energetic and self-motivated
• Experience in community development, wellbeing or recreation services
• Understanding of Local Government legislation and policy frameworks
• Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
