This position is associated with the Rural Health Pharmacology grant. The position ends 10/31/26.

The Manager Community Based Programs works to bridge the gap in addressing the social determinants of health in Virtua’s patient community. In collaboration with leadership manages and coordinates administrative and clinical services for patients and community members participating in Virtua community-based programs. Assists in setting the tone and atmosphere of the program, creating a positive work environment. Promotes Virtua mission, vision, programmatic goals and philosophy.

Position Responsibilities:

Provides day to day oversight and supervision to assigned areas to ensure highly functional business systems and quality patient care and/or consumer experiences. Ensures optimal access and customer satisfaction. Identifies opportunities to increase referral volume and services while controlling expenses. In collaboration with key stakeholders takes appropriate action to foster improvement for operations and outreach.

Oversees the day-to-day operations including but not limited to scheduling, outreach, daily cash reconciliation, vendor orders, data and metric analysis of chronic disease indicators and other related tasks. Ensures adherence to all policies and procedures.

Provide written and oral reports, data analysis and recommendations to leadership to improve operations, practices and impact of programs. Monitor key metrics and implement plans for improvement and operational goals.

Responsible for routinely reviewing workflows and policies and procedures and makes recommendations to ensure continued compliance with current regulations.

Monitors and analyzes utilization and adjustments and clinical schedule flow, electronic medical records and referral patterns where applicable.

Functions as the point of contact for vendors, clients, and community partners. Responsible for education and outreach within the local communities to raise awareness of Virtua’s community health initiatives and developing and maintaining strong working relationships.

Position Qualifications Required

Required Experience:

Minimum 3 years community outreach experience.

Demonstrated interest in local agriculture, food, community, social justice, public health and/or local economies and be motivated by the mission of eliminating hunger and creating sustainable programs and policies to address the root causes of food insecurities as required by program.

Able to work independently and interdependently with other staff and volunteers.

Must display ease and comfort with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions and demonstrate the ability to treat all people with equity and respect.

Some ability to communicate in Spanish as well as English a plus.

Must be competent in social media.

Required Education:

Bachelor’s degree required.

Training / Certification / Licensure:

Valid driver’s license required.

First Aid certification preferred.

SERV Safe certification preferred for food access programs.

Annual Salary: $70,935 - $110,268
The actual salary/rate will vary based on applicant’s experience as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.This position is eligible to participate in one of Virtua’s annual incentive compensation plan (AICP). The amount is subject to the terms and conditions of the plan document.
