JOB SUMMARY

The Manager, Commercial supports the planning, coordination, analytics and execution of regional commercial priorities across Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and South China. The role supports managed and franchised hotels, translates portfolio insights into practical hotel-level actions, coordinates cross-functional workstreams, and tracks delivery against agreed outcomes.

This role supports the Senior Director, Commercial in matters related to commercial priorities across the region and works under the direction of senior commercial leadership. The role partners with Regional, property, and COE stakeholders to support the implementation of defined commercial strategies, tools, standards, and programs. The role is expected to provide coordination and execution support across selected commercial priorities, while escalating key matters to the Senior Director or relevant discipline leaders for guidance and decision-making.

The role works closely with internal stakeholders to help hotels understand key commercial priorities, coordinate follow-up actions, and support the adoption of approved tools and resources. The role contributes through practical support, analysis, and coordination rather than owning individual commercial disciplines.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Marketing, Commerce, Data Analytics or another relevant discipline.
  • 5+ years’ progressive experience in hospitality commercial, revenue management, sales, marketing, business analysis, consulting or a related field, preferably in a regional or multi-property environment.
  • Ability to travel for property site visits and/or Regional meetings
  • Fluent spoken and written English and Chinese, including professional working proficiency in Mandarin, are required.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting the development and implementation of commercial strategies, tools, or programs. Strong understanding of commercial performance drivers, including revenue analysis, business evaluation, market strategy, and hotel-level execution support.
  • Strong associate customer and owner relations skills, fosters trust and builds influence through strong relationships.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, consensus building, change management, and priority management skills. Demonstrates sound judgment, high level of integrity, professionalism, and the ability to influence through collaboration.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills and practical experience using Copilot, M365, Power BI, Tableau or equivalent business-intelligence and visualization tools.
  • Ability to consolidate and validate multiple data sources, identify trends and performance gaps, develop dashboards and scorecards, and translate analysis into actionable commercial recommendations.
  • Proficiency in spoken Cantonese and written Traditional Chinese is highly preferred and will be considered an advantage.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Commercial Support

  • Provides practical support to the Senior Director, Commercial and regional commercial leadership in coordinating hotel commercial priorities, following up on agreed actions, and helping property teams execute approved commercial plans.
  • Supports commercial performance reviews by preparing analysis, consolidating observations, and tracking follow-up actions related to selected commercial focus areas as required.
  • Works with Regional, property, and COE stakeholders to support implementation of defined commercial strategies, tools, standards, and programs, ensuring hotels understand key priorities and available resources.
  • Assists with business planning, pricing, budgeting, campaign execution, market reviews, and performance follow-up by coordinating inputs and providing analysis under the guidance of senior commercial leadership.
  • Helps identify gaps, risks, or opportunities in hotel commercial performance and escalates key matters to the Senior Director or relevant discipline leaders for guidance and decision-making.
  • Supports adherence to Marriott policies, commercial standards, and approved processes, and helps reinforce consistent adoption of commercial tools and resources across assigned hotels.
  • Prepares and maintains regional portfolio dashboards, business reviews and concise leadership recommendations covering relevant commercial performance indicators.
  • Tracks action plans, milestones, accountable owners, dependencies, risks and measurable outcomes, and escalates delivery issues with practical mitigation recommendations.
  • Supports business cases, return-on-investment assessments and post-implementation benefit reviews for selected regional initiatives.
  • Coordinates capability-building sessions, best-practice sharing and adoption of approved tools across managed and franchised hotels.
  • Works effectively across multiple markets, cultures and stakeholder groups and influences delivery without direct authority.
