Job Description

Direct and manage Summit Credit Union’s Loan Processing department within Business Services. Responsible for training and developing the Loan Processing team members to ensure they are accurately, consistently and efficiently preparing loan document packages that provide a best-in-class loan closing experience for our members.

Select Duties

  • Assigns loan requests to the team based on skill and difficulty, reviews loan document packages, and monitors the commercial loan pipeline to assure that loans are flowing through the pipeline effectively to meet lender and member expectations.
  • Provides training and oversight of the due diligence processes.
  • Ensures closing due dates, regulatory requirements, Credit Union Policy, and safe/prudent financial institution practices are being followed.
  • Work with the VP- Business Services Credit & System Operations, to ensure workflows are followed and suggest improvements when needed.
  • Responsible for writing or delegating creation of departmental procedures and ensures full optimization of department technology.

Selection Criteria

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ work experience in a financial institution, with knowledge of commercial operations and related functions or demonstrated experience; or combination of applicable work experience and education.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with at least 3 years’ experience managing an operational team.
  • Thorough understanding of loan policy and regulatory requirements, lending procedures, and related documentation.
  • Strong ability to work independently with minimal supervision, make logical decisions and carry out decisions made.
  • Detail oriented with strong organization and process skills; ability to develop and lead to accountability metrics.
  • Ability to think critically and communicate effectively with a variety of people, both inwriting and verbally.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain professionalism, respect and courtesy.
  • Ability to work in a multi-task, time sensitive environment where deadlines are critical.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, required to develop strong relationships with business members and internal colleagues and team.
  • Demonstrated skills in keeping pace with and managing through change.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and intermediate knowledge of Excel.
  • Promotes the Credit Union's products and services and contributes to the fulfillment of Credit Union goals and objectives.

  • Physical Demands of Position: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to sit, stand and walk, use hands and fingers. The employee occasionally must reach above and below shoulder level, and lift/push/pull and /or carry up to 10 pounds.
  • Environmental/Working Conditions: Works in a typical administrative setting with climate control and appropriate lighting. Travel to branches requires exposure to outdoor and traffic conditions.
