Job Description

This position is part of the Cocoa Sourcing team within the Cocoa Asia Combined Ratio Trading Sourcing department with a strong focus on the sourcing related activities for the chocolate factories of the AMEA region.

You will be part of a specialized team responsible for the procurement and pricing of cocoa raw materials for the chocolate business and developing strategies and policies to enhance profitability.

You will also work closely with operational staff in regional sites around Asia entails clear, accurate and timely delivery of information and execution. Having a good grasp of market fundamentals like supply and demand, pricing methodologies and hedging tools would enable you to succeed in a key profit center within the firm.

  • Responsible for preparing and managing the accuracy of the cocoa raw material requirements overview of the region’s chocolate factories
  • Engage with the chocolate clusters to anticipate changes in forecast and to support new business opportunities
  • Coordinate the team’s cocoa ingredient market outlook, strategy development and executing trades/contracts
  • Support various projects for strategic sourcing, product innovation and budget analysis

REQUIRED ACADEMIC & TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma/Degree in Finance, Accountancy, Computer Science, Statistics or equivalent
  • Fluent in written and spoken English, and preferably a second language
  • Experience with computer systems like Microsoft Programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), SAP
  • Additional qualifications like CFA, CAIA and/or experience with trading platforms not limited to Trading Technologies (TT), MetaTrader (MT4), Bloomberg, Reuters, ICE Connect is an added advantage

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES

  • Have a good understanding of the commodities and its derivatives markets, preferably Agricultural
  • Min 3 years of experience in commodity position management and trading
  • Strong Ambition to take up a leadership and mentoring role
  • Self-motivated, Committed, Integrity, Humble
  • Have an extremely strong interest in markets and strong eye for details
  • Naturally curious and enjoys problem solving
  • Adaptable team player with an ambition to lead
