Regions Hospital is seeking an experienced leader with strong process improvement, partnership and problem solving skills to join our Patient Placement department.
Under the direction of the Director of Patient Logistics, this position is responsible for directing, planning, coordinating, and supervising activities associated with the effective patient flow and open access for Regions Hospital patients – on a strategic and daily operational level. This department strives for optimal and timely placement and movement of patients within the hospital. The position has general management and continuous improvement responsibility for: Patient Flow Coordinators, Patient Placement staff (accurate bed placement and financial system entry), business ownership of the Teletracking Business Support (Region’s bed board) to promote Best Care, Best Experience for patients/families, providers and staff at Regions Hospital. Responsibilities include establishing, maintaining, and improving patient flow policies and procedures, crisis and contingency planning. The Patient Logistics manager initiates with organization and divisional leaders the development and implementation of improvement strategies, tactics and operational plans. The incumbent of this position will work closely with Best Care Best Experience, Quality Management, Communications, IS& T, Human Resources and Senior Leaders, Operational Directors and Managers, to accomplish objectives within a given period with limited resources. The position includes providing mentoring of staff and teams in excellent customer service, improvement tools and methods, project management, change management, group dynamics and measurement.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Quality Management, Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Management or related field. Masters degree preferred.
Minimum of five (5) years experience as a successful patient flow coordinator in a mid to large size hospital.
Minimum of three (3) years of hospital operational improvement project leadership.
Demonstrated results in leading quality and operations improvement efforts within healthcare.
Minimum of three (3) years of operations management experience
Current MN nursing license required. Project Management Certification, LEAN or Six Sigma certification preferred.
