Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager to join our Client Development & Engagement team, focused on supporting the Energy and Infrastructure practice. This role will involve extensive collaboration with and support for a global team of partners across our transactional practices. The ideal candidate will be able to learn quickly, manage short-term and long-term strategic projects, and collaborative effectively with various team members and stakeholders. This role manages relationships and serves as a resource assisting with related communications, administration, research and reporting, marketing communications, coordination of projects, and leads implementation efforts of strategic plans to ensure successful growth and consistency regarding the Firm’s key business initiatives across Energy and Infrastructure. We are looking for a candidate who can thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and contribute significantly to our strategic initiatives and client relationships.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

Strategic Project Management:

  • Develop and implement business development strategies and initiatives specifically tailored to the energy and infrastructure team, ensuring alignment with the Firm’s overall objectives.
  • Manage the preparation and submission of pitches and RFPs, ensuring high-quality, tailored responses that highlight the Firm’s strengths and capabilities across energy and infrastructure.
  • Manage preparation of directory submissions and responses for various legal and business directories/publications.
  • Support the execution of strategic research projects, including market analysis, competitive intelligence, and client needs assessments to position the Firm effectively in the market.
  • Prepare and maintain promotional materials such as brochures, practice area descriptions, rankings, and quotes.

Cross-Practice Coordination and Industry Support:

  • Assist in facilitating internal coordination and support across departments, including various practice groups, events, marketing, graphics, communications, knowledge management, and client teams, ensuring that partners have the necessary information, alignment, and execution support to effectively lead relationships with key energy and infrastructure clients.
  • Design and implement industry-related initiatives to align with the Firm’s strategic goals, including in relation to conferences, speaking engagements, events, sponsorships, thought leadership, PR/communications-related initiatives and LinkedIn through collaboration with various functions in the department.
  • Coordinate, track and support routine meetings with energy and infrastructure partners and infrastructure client pursuit teams.
  • Perform and manage projects, other duties and initiatives as assigned, including dedicated support for the Firm's client teams initiative and other priority client initiatives
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned by the Director.

Training and Development

  • Direct management of junior team members; participate in onboarding and training of junior team members; project manage and review various workstreams; mentor and help to set goals and professional milestones
  • Continuously work with other CDE team members to develop new materials to align with market trends in energy and infrastructure.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members.

Education

  • A bachelor’s degree is required, with a preference for majors in Marketing, English, Communications, Advertising, or a related field.
  • A JD, MBA or relevant advanced degree is preferred but not required.

Skills and Experience

Required

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a high-performance environment, preferably in client service, consulting, legal ops, project management, marketing or financial services.
  • Demonstrated success working in a highly technical industry is required.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing workstreams, including pitches/RFPs, strategic research projects, events planning, conference support, lateral integration, and training and development of junior support.
  • Exhibit exceptional project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple high-priority projects, drive complex initiatives, and deliver results under tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft materials and interact with stakeholders effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills and high proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with CRM systems, market research tools and project management software.
  • Structured and analytical approach to problem-solving, with the ability to navigate complex challenges.
  • Clear and confident communicator, able to interface professionally with senior client stakeholders and peers.
  • Ability to succeed in a remote environment across various time zones to successfully deliver small-scale and large-scale projects on time.
  • Executive presence and high emotional intelligence.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work additional hours as needed, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a highly competitive and demanding environment.

Preferred

  • Prior experience in marketing and business development field at a law firm preferred
  • Some familiarity with Content Pilot’s suite of products or other experience database preferred
  • Experience with website maintenance and or Client Relationship Management (CRM) system experience

Salary Information

NY Only: The estimated base salary range for this position is $180,000 to $220,000 at the time of posting.

The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is exempt meaning it is not overtime pay eligible.
