Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

Provide plant BTG area C&I Maintenance activities along with operation & continual process improvement. Overall workforce and resource management required for reliable and uninterrupted power generation & supply and ensure achievement of business targets, plant performance monitoring.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Responsibilities

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Maintenance management:

Planning and execution of daily maintenance activities (includes corrective, preventive maintenance and any opportunity-based maintenance activity) of C&I systems.

Planning and execution of Shutdown maintenance of C&I system.

Daily / monthly / yearly Evaluation of contract manpower sytem effectively.

  • % completion of defect notifications
  • % completion of Preventive maintenance
  • % completion of instruments calibration
  • Timely completion of shutdown activities.
  • %Availability of BTG area C&I instruments.

Team management:

Allocation of work responsibilities among team members to ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.

Encouraging knowledge sharing among team members.

Resolving interpersonal conflicts among team members.

Motivating team to perform at their best and keep improving.

  • No. of Knowledge Sharing Sessions by C&I Team.
  • No. of Technical trainings imparted self or organized by external party.

Spares Management:

Timely stock review.

C&I annual budget optimization ,

Material procurement requisition through SAP MM module

Technical negotiation and technical vetting

Raising Service requisition as per requirement

Billing of Service (Service Entry Sheet in SAP)

Vendor development and localization

  • % Availability of instrument spares for all maintenance activities.
  • % timely completion of technical vetting.
  • % utilization of Budget, Budget target Vs Actual, O&M cost for C&I.

Safety management:

Ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and quality standards;

Motivating team members to ensure safety at workplace.

Increasing awareness regarding safety and health among team members.

  • Zero Harm
  • % Near miss reporting.
  • % Use of PPE by C&I work force.

Continual Improvement:

Identifying areas of improvement in BTG area.

Planning and execution of identified CIP,SIP in BTG area.

  • No. of CIP and SIP identified by C&I department.
  • No. of CIP and SIP implemented by C&I department.

Capability building:

Training associate manpower/ technicians on technical topics sharing insights aimed at improving productivity at work.

Proactive involvement in departmental projects (other than routine jobs) and learning new aspects both technically and behaviorally.

  • Preparing Training Calendar as per TNI for associates/ technicians.
  • Arranging and delivering topics of Knowledge Sharing Sessions for associates/ technicians.
  • Attending Technical trainings conducted by external party.
  • Sharing beneficial technical updates in GMR Knowledge Management Portal.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

EHS Attributes :

Leading and well knowledge of OHSAS & EMS and QMS ( Integrated Management System) and AMS system , Knowledge of Onsite emergency preparedness plan and its implementation

Knowledge of Fire detection system, Environment monitoring system

Detail knowledge and Conversant with Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment, Aspect Impact assessment methodology regarding ISMS , EHS and asset Management .

Conversant with preparation of Safe operating procedures, Safe maintenance procedures for plant equipment’s and activity.

Familiar with Investigation of incident, prepare RCA and CAPA reports

Leading and Review of ISMS , AMS . IMS management system findings and its implementation at plant

  • Timely resolution of EHS issues.
  • Compliance with environmental norms, LTI FR rate,
  • Attending EHS trainings as per TNI matrix,
  • Reporting of EHS observations and near misses, Safety meeting Report ,
  • Contractor's evaluation EHS performances
  • MRM reports

EXTERNAL INTERACTIONS

Interaction with OEM for trouble shooting, for up gradation of technology.

All contractors working in the plant.

Interaction with the manufacturer, service providers & suppliers.

INTERNAL INTERACTIONS

Interact with the Department Head& Dy. Plant Head to understand the requirement of the system.

Interact with the team members to understand their needs to furnish all the maintenance related activities with the concept of Zero Defects.

Interaction with the technicians on daily basis for briefing about the job requirement for the day and follow-up.

Interaction with Stores & Commercial Deptt.

Interaction with Accounts & Finance Deptt.

FINANCIAL DIMENSIONS

Annual Budget, adherence to AOP and recording the variances.

Adherence to department O&M expenses, on monthly, quarterly and yearly basis.

OTHER DIMENSIONS

Management Skills to develop a very dedicated and motivated Team for Maintenance

Adherences to Safety practices , PTW system for the Power Plant Maintenance

Skill to identify opportunities for improving performance and implementation of targeted works in EHS , IMS and Performances .

Good inter-personnel skills to manage the day-to-day maintenance activities of the Plant

Ability to plan and execute good systems for the Power Plant Maintenance

Knowledge of business excellence programs and various Management system drive like Business Excellence , ISMS , AMS , IMS etc .

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

BE/ B.Tech (Electronics& Communication/ Electronics& Instrumentation/ Control& Instrumentation)

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

8-10 Years’ experience in similar role.
