The Ministry of Children and Family Services funds programs and services to support vulnerable children, youth, families, and individuals to live safely and succeed in Alberta. This includes providing services and resources to protect children and youth from abuse and neglect and effectively address harm that has placed them in need of intervention. Mentoring and support services are available to youth transitioning into healthy, productive adults. The ministry also invests in community-based groups that support prevention and early intervention services such as Family Resource Networks, youth emergency shelters as well as programs that raise awareness and help respond to family violence, sexual violence, and abuse.

Are you a transformational leader with a passion for strengthening children, youth, families, and communities? Children and Family Services – North Region is seeking an experienced Manager, Child Intervention to lead dedicated teams delivering critical intervention services across Northern Alberta.
Reporting to the Director, Child Intervention, in this role, you will provide strategic and operational leadership, support excellence in frontline practice, and help create lasting, positive outcomes for children and families while working in partnership with Indigenous communities, service providers, and community stakeholders.

Preferred education is a Bachelor of Social Work with four (4) years of related experience including supervisory in a child protection environment.

We are currently recruiting 1 Permanent and 1 Temporary *(travelling) position in Grande Prairie.
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 36.25 hours per week. (The role may require additional hours beyond the regular workday, including weekends, on-call duties, and travel as necessary.)
Location: Grand Prairie, Alberta
Perks of living in Grande Prairie:
Preference would be for the successful candidate to reside in the North Region. Relocation support can be requested however, it will be subject to operational requirements, budget approvals, area of relocation etc. The successful candidate will be required to frequently travel to the designated office location they will be supporting as part of their role responsibilities.
Travel Requirement: The temporary position requires 50% onsite travel to Grande Prairie based on operational needs. The successful candidate must be able and willing to travel as required. Travel arrangements, including transportation and accommodation, will be coordinated as applicable, and eligible travel and subsistence expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with organizational travel and expense policies.
