About the role and team

Working in Central Operations at Uber means solving hard problems in a high-stakes, fast-moving environment. Whether you are scaling the future of Autonomous Vehicle fleets, driving growth for our multi-billion dollar Grocery & Retail business, or leading operations for a major geographic market, you will be at the heart of our mission to move the real world. You’ll need to take extreme ownership, stay adaptable in the face of shifting regulations or market dynamics, and build with both urgency and care.

This role is about navigating ambiguity and making smart decisions with imperfect information. You will act as a hands-on operator and a strategic architect, often building processes from the ground up while managing senior-level partnerships. If you are energized by the "messy" reality of doing big things and are motivated by tangible, real-world impact, this is where you’ll grow.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the end-to-end strategy and execution for high-priority operational programs, moving fluidly from big-picture planning to hands-on troubleshooting.

  • Build and manage strategic partnerships with external developers, fleet operators navigating complex negotiations and earning trust through reliability.

  • Be responsible for the P&L and growth targets for your area, managing incentive budgets and investment levers to optimize unit economics and spend efficiency.

  • Diagnose operational gaps and process inefficiencies using data-driven insights, and design repeatable playbooks to improve asset utilization or market penetration.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Legal, Marketing, and Finance to align dependencies and ensure our global strategy translates into local success.

  • Communicate with clarity at the executive level, synthesizing complex performance data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.

Basic Qualifications

  • 8
+ years of experience in Operations, Program Management, Strategy Consulting, or a similar fast-paced environment.

  • Proven track record of delivering measurable outcomes in high-velocity B2B or consumer-facing business units.

  • Exceptional analytical skills; must be highly proficient in Excel/Google Sheets and capable of using data to drive business decisions.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills with experience influencing senior leadership and cross-functional teams.

  • Resilience and adaptability—the ability to thrive in dynamic, unstructured environments with a "get-it-done" attitude.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced degree in Business, Engineering, or a quantitative field.

  • Technical or engineering background with experience in Fleet Operations, Logistics, or Autonomous Vehicle (AV) technology.

  • Advanced analytical proficiency, including working knowledge of SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).

  • Experience in "0-to-1" environments, such as launching new products, services, or geographic markets.

  • High emotional intelligence with the ability to navigate organizational dynamics and build consensus across cultures.

About Uber

We are Uber. The go-getters. The kind of people who are relentless about our mission to help people go anywhere and get anything and earn their way. Movement is what we power. It’s our lifeblood. It runs through our veins. It’s what gets us out of bed each morning. It pushes us to constantly reimagine how we can move better. For you. For all the places you want to go. For all the things you want to get. For all the ways you want to earn. Across the entire world. In real time. At the incredible speed of now.

The idea for Uber was born on a snowy night in Paris in 2008, and ever since then our DNA of reimagination and reinvention carries on. We’ve grown into a global platform powering flexible earnings and the movement of people and things in ever expanding ways. We’ve gone from connecting rides on 4 wheels to 2 wheels to 18-wheel freight deliveries. From takeout meals to daily essentials to prescription drugs to just about anything you need at any time and earning your way. From drivers with background checks to real-time verification, safety is a top priority every single day. At Uber, the pursuit of reimagination is never finished, never stops, and is always just beginning.
