Job Title Manager, Category Leadership - CMG Aisle Principles & Testing
The Manager, Category Leadership - CMG Aisle will lead end-to-end Test & Learn initiatives designed to advance the Take Home Category. This role partners with the Category Leadership SME, Commercial Insights, Customer Teams and Channel Strategy to identify opportunities, design and execute tests, generate actionable insights, and translate learnings into scalable playbooks that deliver topline sales, share, and distribution plans.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead Test & Learn initiatives in partnership with the Category Leadership (SME) to identify opportunities and prioritize solutions that can be scaled to all retailers, delivering thought leadership and unlocking growth
• Design test hypotheses, success metrics, execution plans, and measurement approaches that align to customer and enterprise priorities
• Coordinate cross-functional partners to execute tests effectively, ensuring timelines, resources, and in-market requirements are aligned for successful implementation
• Analyze syndicated data, customer data, shopper research, and test results to uncover actionable insights and recommendations that improve aisle performance and business outcomes
• Translate test results into clear, compelling stories and recommendations for SME partners, customer teams, and senior leaders to influence decisions and drive adoption of winning strategies
• Lead post-test readouts with SME and customer teams, documenting learnings, implications, and next steps to inform future strategies and broader activation
• Build and improve Test & Learn tools, templates, and best practices that increase efficiency, consistency, and scalability across Category Leadership and customer-facing teams
• Identify opportunities to scale successful tests, embed learnings into ongoing strategies, and strengthen consultative partnerships with partners and customer teams
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree Required EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in Category Leadership
• Strong knowledge of Category Management principles, including Test & Learn methodologies (e.g. APT)
• Advanced space planning/JDA capabilities
• Strong knowledge of syndicated data (e.g. Circana, Numerator) and Hershey’s Custom Hierarchy
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to extract insights from complex datasets and evaluate test performance against defined success metrics
• Proven ability to build a compelling story and explain insights to individuals with different levels of knowledge on the subject
• Experienced Project Manager, the principal “hub” to coordinate and drive actions across with Category Leadership, Commercial Insights, Customer Teams, Channel Strategy, and 3rd Parties
