
Role Purpose:
To strengthen structured engagement between ITIs and industry, and translate employer and labour market insights into stronger learner transition pathways by shaping career systems, engaging employer ecosystems, and translating labour market insights into program, design, and implementation inputs.
This role moves beyond placements to focus on quality of work, diverse pathways, and stronger transition systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Shape and strengthen multiple transition pathways: jobs, green pathways, self-employment, apprenticeships, emerging sectors, Gig jobs and informal sector work
Contribute to defining: quality of jobs frameworks, meaningful work indicators, progression thinking
Use insights from the field to suggest new pathway models
Develop and strengthen structured engagement between ITIs and employers to improve training relevance and learner transitions.
Employer Intelligence
Develop a strong understanding of
local labour markets and sector demand
Identify
growth sectors, emerging occupations, and skill requirements
Translate employer insights into
inputs for training relevance and pathway design
Industry Partnerships
Build relationships across different employer segments:
MSMEs and local enterprises
Large employers and anchor industries
Industry bodies/associations and sector skill councils
Emerging sectors and regional opportunity clusters
Move beyond transactional engagement to
long-term partnerships that support learning and transitions

Engagement Mechanisms
Design practical mechanisms that enable sustained industry engagement, such as:
structured industry advisory groups
workplace exposure opportunities
co-designed training inputs
industry-led projects or challenges
apprenticeship and OJT pipelines
Value for Industry
Articulate and strengthen the
value proposition for employers
engaging with ITIs, including:
access to trained talent
influence on training relevance
visibility within local skilling ecosystems.
Improve transition-related systems: placement processes, tracking mechanisms, evidence capture
Continuously work on process simplification, automation opportunities, better data flow across teams
Take inputs from: labour market insights, employer interactions, placement data, field realities
And convert them into: design inputs, capacity-building needs, program improvements

Non-Negotiable Skills:
Experience:
Minimum 7–8 years of experience in:
Industry Associations
Skilling and vocational education
Industry engagement
Demonstrated experience in:
Stakeholder management
Ecosystem partnerships
Institutional capacity building
Program management (including Budget management, Reviews)
Experience working with government systems, ITIs, VTIs, or workforce ecosystems preferred.
Salary:
The pay band for the position starts at Rs. 77,000/- per month (cost to company) (
The salary offered will be commensurate with the experience and expertise of the candidate)
