Job Description

for Cabin: Suspension and Mounts (DRL 6.1/6.2)

  • Experience Min. 4 yrs , max. 10 yrs
  • Design and development of Cabin Suspension and Mounts
  • Designing assemblies with a variety of functions and interfaces: Design of components and assemblies, assemblies based on specified concepts.
  • Creation of concepts for assemblies with a variety of functions and interfaces: Solutions for assemblies (e.g. suspension systems, casted and forged parts, thick sheet constructions, elastomer bearings, locking devices) taking into account project target values (e.g. costs, quality, weight and deadlines).
  • Creation of contributions to requirement specifications at assembly or component level: Prepare and coordinate contributions to requirement specifications (incl. deadlines and costs) for assemblies. E. g. Suspension struts, elastomer bearings, tilting hydraulic components such as tilt cylinders or tilt pumps.
  • Coordination of development work for components/assemblies: The development of components/assemblies (e.g. taking into account research results), accompany and coordinate with specialist units and external companies with regard to deadlines, costs and quality. Support Purchasing in awarding contracts in technical matters.
  • Management of projects in own responsibility: Management of projects (like ICMs) that affect own responsibility. Pre-structure and subdivide project content, detail and define individual work steps/packages. Create schedules, budgets and schedules. Create and coordinate project order/ICM requests. Control and monitor project execution.
  • Planning of tests/trials together with the validation responsibles: Plan testing and inspection work with regard to deadline, costs, quality and resources, taking into account policies, requirement specifications and legal requirements.
  • Evaluation and interpretation of trials/tests for submission of the release decision: Evaluate results. Creating test reports. Specify test runs or repetition.
  • You carry out these activities in close contact with relevant units such as calculation, supplier management, production planning, preliminary cost planning, sales, purchasing and controlling.
  • Expertise in Material selection, Master section generation, Design principals Calculations
  • Exposure to Kinematic simulation
  • Knowledge about prototyping methodologies
  • Knowledge about regulatory/CMVR/Homologation requirements for Installation/Function of the system level and vehicle level
  • Knowledge about Validation methodology.
  • Knowledge about Manufacturing process for Rubber/Casting/Forging/Stamping
  • Knowledge of Design tools DFMEA, DVP, DFM, DFA etc
  • Hands on experience in UG NX (3D/2D) along with GD&T, Tolerance stack up analysis etc.
  • Conversant in 2D Drawings preparation & Documentation release
  • On-time support on Design Issues Resolution during Development/testing etc.
  • Supplier Interaction & Coordination for development of Parts.
  • Supporting Proto/Testing team in Fitment and Validation Activities.
  • On time support for Field issues resolution.
  • Resolution of Design Issues raised during Testing, Production build & Customer vehicles through use of proven problem solving Techniques
  • Propose, Execute & Implement Cost Reduction Ideas ( VA/VE) relevant to system.
  • Adherence to the Project timelines & Risk Assessment in Product Development Lifecycle.
  • Good oral, written communication and presentation skills.
  • Candidates with good knowledge of Cabin Suspension and mounts for Commercial vehicles / Pass cars from OEM's or reputed Tier1's preferred.

CAD Skills / Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency in Unigraphics NX Tool in Surface Modeling and Solid Modeling
  • Drafting – 2D drawing preparation, Assembly drawing & Installation drawing preparation
  • Proficiency in PLM tools & MS Office

Soft Skills:

  • Global collaboration with design teams and suppliers
  • Co creation with Internal and External Stakeholders
  • Time management and Reporting skills
  • Fluency in English Language
  • High Intercultural sensitivity and Agility

Educational Skills

  • 04 years Engineering degree from reputed collage/University
