Working within the transformation priorities set by finance leadership, this role serves as the hands-on delivery lead for enhancements to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and the connected financial applications including Medius AP Automation, and as the finance function's subject matter expert on how those systems are configured and used. The position also maintains the Company's accounting policies and procedures, ensuring they are documented, current, and consistently applied. This is a delivery-focused role for a practical, detail-oriented individual who is comfortable moving between process analysis, system configuration, documentation, and end-user support.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute the finance and accounting transformation roadmap established by finance leadership, delivering assigned initiatives on schedule and to the agreed scope.
- Identify opportunities to improve finance systems and processes through analysis of current-state pain points, exception volumes, and user feedback; document and recommend them to the Vice President, Controller for prioritization.
- Serve as the finance function's subject matter expert for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and connected financial platforms, including Medius AP Automation, translating business requirements into system configuration and process design.
- Support the Vice President, Controller in his or her role as platform owner by preparing recommendations, impact analysis, and documentation for decisions regarding the chart of accounts, financial dimensions, and system-enforced accounting controls.
- Manage the delivery of finance systems projects, enhancements, upgrades, and releases, including requirements gathering, configuration, testing, cutover, and post-implementation support, ensuring transitions do not disrupt day-to-day business.
- Coordinate across Procurement, Accounts Payable, Treasury, Accounting, Tax, and Information Technology to gather requirements, align on design, and escalate competing priorities for resolution.
- Identify and execute opportunities to apply artificial intelligence within finance processes, including AI-assisted invoice capture and coding, document intelligence, anomaly and exception detection, reconciliation support, and AI assistants embedded in Dynamics 365 and Medius.
- Configure, test, tune, and monitor AI-enabled functionality in production, including confidence thresholds, exception routing, and human review checkpoints, and track accuracy and adoption against expected benefit.
- Apply the Company's governance standards for AI use in finance, ensuring approved tools and use cases, human review requirements, data handling standards, and audit evidence retention are followed in everything delivered.
- Prepare financial analysis supporting recommended enhancements, including estimated benefit, implementation cost and effort, and associated risk, to inform leadership prioritization decisions.
- Ensure new and current systems and processes adhere to the Company's purchasing, approval, and audit policies.
- Develop, document, and maintain accounting policies and procedures, ensuring accurate and consistent financial reporting across all business units and that documentation is accessible and understandable to stakeholders.
- Review and analyze information to monitor compliance with accounting policies and procedures, identifying and addressing discrepancies or errors.
- Deliver training and support to accounting and finance staff on policies, procedures, and systems, including practical guidance on using AI-enabled tools effectively and reviewing their output appropriately.
- Support user adoption and change management for new processes and tools, working directly with end users to resolve issues and reinforce correct usage.
- Maintain history and documentation for system configuration, process design decisions, and policy changes.
- Report progress, risks, and issues on assigned initiatives to the Vice President, Controller and other stakeholders on a regular cadence.
- Stay current with accounting standards, regulations, and developments in finance technology and AI, bringing relevant capabilities to leadership's attention.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Core finance and accounting process improvement experience across procure-to-pay, record-to-report, and order-to-cash, with strong knowledge of controls and processes; additional experience in FP&A, tax, treasury, or project accounting a plus.
- Hands-on configuration and delivery experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance; experience with the Power Platform (Power BI and Power Apps) or comparable top-tier ERP systems beneficial.

- Ability to configure, test, tune, and monitor AI-enabled functionality in production, including setting confidence thresholds, routing exceptions, establishing human review checkpoints, and measuring accuracy and adoption over time.
- Sound judgment regarding where AI is appropriate in a controlled financial environment and where human review must be preserved, and the discipline to work within established governance standards.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards, including U.S. GAAP and IFRS, and the ability to translate them into system and process requirements.
- Solid project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Financial acumen sufficient to estimate the benefit, cost, effort, and risk of proposed enhancements and present them clearly for leadership decision-making.
