Under new leadership, the team is entering an exciting chapter focused on building a winning tradition, delivering a world-class fan experience, fostering innovation, and making a meaningful impact in our community.

We are seeking a Business Strategy Manager to help shape transformational decisions that will redefine how our organization operates, engages our community, and achieves sustained excellence on and off the field. In this role, you will advance data-driven decision-making, driving revenue growth, enhancing fan engagement, and improving operational effectiveness. The ideal candidate has experience defining, monitoring, and actioning on organizational KPIs; addressing critical business challenges through analysis; developing board-ready presentations and communications; and interacting with and influencing senior executives. This new role will help translate insights into action — shaping how the organization operates, engages with fans, and grows sustainably on and off the field. The ideal candidate is analytical, curious, and detail-oriented, with a passion for sports, business strategy, and using data to drive real-world impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Game Plan (Business and Strategic Planning)
    • Assist in annual and multi-year business planning across functions (e.g., Marketing, Ticketing, Corporate Partnerships)
    • Define success and make the business strategy clear, actionable, and measurable; articulate and communicate progress against objectives and key metrics to encourage cross-functional alignment and accountability
    • Bring the story of the business to life, delivering ownership-ready presentations with a cohesive narrative
  • Inform Big Decisions (Strategic Initiatives)
    • Conduct quantitative analyses and research to support key strategic initiatives and identify growth opportunities
    • Enable the leadership team to make smart and informed decisions by developing detailed quantitative and qualitative analyses and data-driven recommendations; deliver comprehensive briefs that illuminate options, trade-offs, and strategic implications
    • Prioritize and execute key initiatives using structured plans and timelines
  • Drive Innovation and Growth
    • Explore new ideas, technologies, and partnerships – from both inside and outside Sports – to help grow the Orioles business
    • Build business cases, test new initiatives, and recommend scale or pivot decisions
  • Strengthen Collaboration and Efficiency
    • Help maintain standardized tools, templates, and processes to improve organizational alignment and communication
    • Partner with department leads to transform raw data into actionable insights
    • Assist in managing project timelines, deliverables, and follow-ups to ensure strategic priorities stay on track

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with strong record of academic achievement
  • 4+ years of experience in Consulting, Finance, Strategy, or related field
  • Exceptional ability to distill and interpret raw data to offer creative, practical, actionable insights; experience making data and insights accessible to broad and diverse audiences
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; demonstrated ability to build credibility and trust, especially with executive leaders; comfort navigating complex stakeholder dynamics in high-stakes situations
  • Impeccable attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to work cross-functionally, prioritize, multi-task, and manage major projects with deadlines, often in an ambiguous environment
The anticipated salary for this role is $95,000-$125,000 annually depending on experience, plus bonus opportunity.

About Baltimore Orioles

The Baltimore Orioles are a Major League Baseball team playing based in Baltimore, Maryland in the United States. Since the St. Louis Browns moved to Baltimore in 1954, the Orioles have become a staple in downtown Baltimore. Moving forward, the club has collected 3 World Series titles, 7 American League Pennants, 10 American League East Division titles, and 3 Wild Card berths. The club has also fostered Hall of Fame careers for Earl Weaver, Eddie Murray, Brooks Robinson, Frank Robinson, Jim Palmer and Cal Ripken, Jr.

In March 2024, Major League Baseball unanimously approved the sale of the Baltimore Orioles to David M. Rubenstein and his partners. Under the general management of Mike Elias and management of Brandon Hyde, the Orioles have been rebuilding their franchise since 2019. With the #1 ranked farm system, according to MLB Pipeline, the Orioles are beginning to see new talent take the field.

The Baltimore Orioles remain focused on three main principles moving forward:

Creating a fun-family atmosphere

Connecting with our community

Producing the best baseball team on the field

When Oriole Park at Camden Yards (OPACY) opened on April 6, 1992, a new era of Major League Baseball began. The park was brand new, but still old-fashioned. State-of-the-art, yet quaint. At less than a day old, it was already a classic.

Oriole Park at Camden Yard opened in 1992. In the last 32 years that have followed, OPACY has welcomed more than 72 million fans including individuals from all 50 states and more than 100 countries. The city of Baltimore and the entire state of Maryland have derived over $10 billion in economic impact from the more than 76 million fans who have attended Orioles games over the last 30 seasons, as well as from the millions more who have participated in major concerts, festivals, meetings, tours, and community events that have been held at the ballpark.
