Accountabilities/Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Execute hands-on operational set-ups in M&G systems for new client mandates, fund launches, account openings, lifecycle changes and other onboarding events, covering:
  • Fund structures, Asset and Share class and legal setup
  • Co-ordinates Custody account and market specific opening
  • Market and instrument configurations
  • Derivatives (ETD/OTC) setups including associated collateral/clearing arrangements.
  • Set up standing instructions where applicable
  • Ensure all set-ups are completed with 100% accuracy and within agreed SLA/timelines to support time-to-market objectives.
  • Liaise with external custodians, administrators, brokers and other third-party providers to provide necessary data and documentation for their operational set-ups; track progress and escalate issues to ensure timely completion.
  • Respond to and resolve operational queries and exceptions related to set-ups; coordinate with internal teams and suppliers to remediate breaks or gaps.
  • Maintain detailed, auditable records of set-up activities, decisions and supporting documents in line with internal controls and compliance expectations.
  • Collaborate with peers to produce checklists, templates and runbooks that standardise set-up activities across asset classes and product types.
  • Support the Senior Manager / AVP by providing input to operational readiness checkpoints and by preparing evidence or documentation required for go live approvals.
  • Participate in post-implementation checks for assigned set-ups to confirm operationalisation and identify any follow-up actions.
  • Help identify opportunities for process improvements, standardisation and small automation initiatives; support UAT for system changes related to set-up processes.
  • Provide on-the-job guidance and knowledge transfer to more junior colleagues (Senior Analysts / Analysts) on system configuration standards and best practice.
  • Adhere to all regulatory, compliance and risk-management requirements when performing set-ups; escalate control issues promptly.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Educational Qualification

Education and experience Requirements:

  • 3-5 years’ relevant experience in fund operations, client onboarding, custody or related investment operations roles with hands-on system configuration experience.
  • Practical experience performing operational set-ups across fund structures, custody arrangements, market/instrument configurations, Standing instructions and derivatives-related parameters.
  • Basic understanding of fund structures (UCITS, AIFs, OEICs, SICAVs).
  • Experience interfacing with custodians, administrators or third-party providers to provide information and resolve setup requirements (includes SSI set up issues)
  • Strong attention to detail and demonstrable track record of accuracy in operational tasks.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to gather requirements and explain technical set-up details to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities and multiple concurrent set-ups.
  • Basic project/task management capabilities: use of checklists, logs, status updates and escalation routines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with industry platforms (e.g., BRS, Aladdin, or equivalent) is desirable.
  • Desirable:
  • Experience with derivatives (ETD/OTC) set-ups and collateral/clearing parameters.
  • Exposure to automation, RPA or data-quality initiatives related to onboarding or setup activities.
  • Experience producing or contributing to management information (MI) on operational metrics.

Qualifications Essential:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in finance, business or a related discipline, or relevant professional experience.
  • Desirable:
  • Industry certifications in fund operations, custody or regulatory compliance.
