About the role and team

Sales at Uber means navigating ambiguity, earning trust fast, and solving problems that don’t come with a script. As a Business Development Manager, you are a strategic dealmaker responsible for identifying and cultivating high-impact partnerships that drive meaningful scale for our business. You won't just be pushing a product; you will be building long-term, multi-faceted ecosystems that bridge our digital platform with the real-world needs of partners in industries ranging from tech and finance to vehicle supply and beyond.

This role is for someone who thrives in a high-stakes, fast-moving environment where change is the only constant. You’ll need to make big decisions without perfect information, lead through influence rather than control, and stay resilient through tough negotiations and the inevitable "no." If you are a strategic problem solver energized by the messy reality of doing big things and motivated by real-world impact, this is where you’ll grow.

What you’ll do

  • Source, evaluate, and lead end-to-end partnership processes, from initial business case development and senior-level outreach to complex contract negotiations and final implementation.
  • Navigate internal complexity and move with urgency to align cross-functional stakeholders in Legal, Finance, Product, and Engineering to ensure deal execution.
  • Build and grow long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with senior executives at partner companies, earning trust through reliability and a deep understanding of their business goals.
  • Manage existing complex partnerships to drive continuous growth and business impact, proactively identifying opportunities to expand the scope of collaboration.
  • Develop strategic deal analytics and financial models to quantify impact, communicate value propositions, and guide business decision-making under pressure.
  • Adapt your approach to solve "puzzles"—finding creative ways to unblock deals, remove obstacles, and build the conditions necessary for a partnership to succeed.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience in Business Development, Management Consulting, Investment Banking, or Corporate Strategy.
  • Proven track record of structuring, negotiating, and closing high-stakes commercial deals.
  • Experience combining business, finance, and legal concepts to lead multi-faceted negotiations.
  • Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English (and local language where required).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree or MBA from a leading institution.
  • Experience in mobility, transportation, financial services, or the technology industry.
  • Familiarity with technical systems (e.g., API integrations) to collaborate effectively with Product and Engineering teams.
  • Resilience and a "go-get-it" attitude, with a demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguous, high-pressure environments.
  • Success in leading through influence across global and regional teams with limited direct authority.

Ready to Ride?

This isn't the kind of place where you follow a playbook — it's where you help write one. If you're driven by impact, energized by challenge, and ready to shape how the world moves — we'd love to hear from you.

You may be eligible for bonuses, equity, and other compensation, as well as a range of benefits. Explore our benefits.

Offices remain key to collaboration and Uber's culture. Unless approved for full remote work, employees must spend at least 50% of their time in-office. Some roles, like those at greenlight hubs, require full-time in-office presence. Ask your Recruiter for details about this role's requirements.

About Uber

We are Uber. The go-getters. The kind of people who are relentless about our mission to help people go anywhere and get anything and earn their way. Movement is what we power. It’s our lifeblood. It runs through our veins. It’s what gets us out of bed each morning. It pushes us to constantly reimagine how we can move better. For you. For all the places you want to go. For all the things you want to get. For all the ways you want to earn. Across the entire world. In real time. At the incredible speed of now.

The idea for Uber was born on a snowy night in Paris in 2008, and ever since then our DNA of reimagination and reinvention carries on. We’ve grown into a global platform powering flexible earnings and the movement of people and things in ever expanding ways. We’ve gone from connecting rides on 4 wheels to 2 wheels to 18-wheel freight deliveries. From takeout meals to daily essentials to prescription drugs to just about anything you need at any time and earning your way. From drivers with background checks to real-time verification, safety is a top priority every single day. At Uber, the pursuit of reimagination is never finished, never stops, and is always just beginning.
