
About the role
Mater is seeking an experienced Manager, Business Development to support growth across our private hospitals and services, with a primary focus on attracting, recruiting and onboarding Visiting Medical Officers across medical and surgical specialties.
This is not a traditional corporate business development role. At its core, this role is about building Mater’s specialist doctor pipeline, identifying priority medical and surgical specialists, developing trusted relationships with doctors and medical groups, and helping bring new VMOs into Mater’s private hospital network.
This opportunity would suit someone with experience in medical recruitment, specialist recruitment, private hospital business development, VMO engagement, doctor attraction, healthcare recruitment or senior clinical workforce recruitment — including candidates with domestic or international doctor recruitment experience.
Salary range: $129,394 - $133,248 per annum plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
About the role
Reporting through Mater’s Corporate Affairs and Growth portfolio, the Manager, Business Development will work closely with hospital executives, General Managers, medical leaders, clinical teams, medical administration and operational teams to support targeted VMO recruitment and sustainable clinical growth.
You will play a key role in identifying doctors who can support growth across Mater’s private hospitals, particularly in medical and surgical specialties where there is service demand, succession risk, market opportunity or capacity to grow theatre and procedural activity.
The role will support the full recruitment and engagement pathway, from identifying and approaching prospective doctors, through to supporting recruitment conversations, credentialing, onboarding, engagement and integration into Mater services.
