Job Description

At Hertz, we’re not just renting cars—we’re reinventing how people move. The Mobility Division is at the center of that transformation, spanning shared mobility, managed fleet, and emerging platforms.
As Manager, Business Development, you’ll lead how we identify, structure, and scale the partnerships that fuel Mobility growth. This role blends strategy, dealmaking, and execution. If you’re excited to build new businesses, turn complex partnerships into scalable programs, and shape the future of mobility, this role is for you.

A Day in the Life:
Brief description of the location, scope, responsibilities, and reporting structure of the position.

The salary range for this position is expected to be around $100k, highly commensurate with experience.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build the Partnerships That Matter:
Own the business development strategy across Mobility. You’ll source, structure, negotiate, and grow partnerships that expand revenue, unlock new capabilities, and strengthen Hertz’s position in the mobility ecosystem.
  • Turn Deals into Scaled Businesses:
Go beyond signing agreements. Partner with operations, product, finance, legal, and marketing to launch, operationalize, and scale partnerships that perform in the real world.
  • Lead with Commercial Rigor:
Develop business cases, pricing frameworks, and financial models to evaluate opportunities and guide decision making. Track performance, identify risks and upside, and continuously optimize for growth.
  • Navigate Senior Stakeholders:
Build and manage relationships with executive level partners and internal leaders. You’ll align diverse stakeholders, manage complex negotiations, and drive long-term value creation.
  • Shape What’s Next:
Monitor market trends, competitive dynamics, and customer needs to inform where Mobility grows next—and how we invest ahead of the curve.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven Business Development Experience:
5+ years in business development, partnerships, strategy, or commercial leadership, ideally within mobility, transportation, marketplaces, or platform-based businesses.
  • Strategic & Analytical Thinking:
Strong financial and business acumen, with experience building models, evaluating tradeoffs, and making data driven recommendations at the executive level.
  • Executive Presence:
Comfort working with senior leaders internally and externally. You communicate clearly, negotiate effectively, and influence without authority.
  • Builder Mindset:
You thrive in ambiguity. You enjoy creating structure where none exists, testing ideas quickly, and scaling what works.
  • Cross Functional Leadership:
You know great partnerships succeed through collaboration. You bring teams together and move initiatives forward end-to-end.

What You’ll Get:

  • Up to 40% off the base rate of any standard Hertz Rental
  • Paid Time Off
  • Medical, Dental & Vision plan options
  • Retirement programs, including 401(k) employer matching
  • Paid Parental Leave & Adoption Assistance
  • Employee Assistance Program for employees & family
  • Educational Reimbursement & Discounts
  • Voluntary Insurance Programs - Pet, Legal/Identity Theft, Critical Illness
  • Perks & Discounts –Theme Park Tickets, Gym Discounts & more
