This role serves as a hands-on BCM practitioner within the global BCM program and execute, sustain, and continuously improve Edwards' Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) with a primary focus on the global supply chain, including manufacturing sites and distribution centers, and a secondary focus on critical cross-cutting corporate functions.

The position is an individual contributor role and it is responsible for conducting business impact analyses, developing and maintaining business continuity and crisis management plans, planning and facilitating exercises, supporting incident and crisis response, and driving BCM training and awareness across the enterprise.

This position will operate across time zones and regions, partnering with site, functional, and regional leadership to strengthen organizational resilience. This is an execution-oriented role with high visibility to senior leadership and considerable cross-functional interaction.

How you’ll make an impact:

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain business continuity plans (BCPs) and crisis management plans aligned with BCM standards to strengthen resiliency across the enterprise.
• Work directly with plan owners at manufacturing sites, distribution centers, and corporate functions to build and update plans on a defined cycle.
• Plan, develop, and facilitate tabletop exercises, plan walkthroughs, and functional exercises for sites, functions, and leadership teams.
• Document exercise lessons learned and drive resulting mitigation actions to closure.
• Drive and lead execution of the BCM program roadmap, including progress reporting, dashboards, and executive briefing materials.
• Continuously improve the Business Continuity Management System (BCMS), including guidelines, standards, and procedures in line with BCM best practices.
• Own, manage, and administer the BCM software platform (e.g., Fusion Risk Management), ensuring data quality, plan relevance, and stakeholder access.
• Engage and influence senior leaders, including plant managers and department leaders, to drive alignment with enterprise BCM standards and resource requirements.
• Develop and maintain BCM playbooks, tools, communication templates, and reference materials.
• Design and deliver BCM training and capability-building activities.
• Conduct and periodically refresh Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) across prioritized sites and functions to identify critical processes, dependencies, systemic risks, resiliency gaps, and recovery objectives.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify threats, vulnerabilities, and single points of failure (SPoF) across prioritized operations.
• Partner with operational, supply chain, and functional teams to develop, prioritize, and track implementation of mitigation strategies and continuity measures.
• Present analysis and recommendations to senior supply chain and functional department leaders.
• Lead and guide incident management teams (IMTs) during disruptive events, including IMT activations, response actions, and incident communications.
• Provide vision and strategy for crisis management procedures, checklists, and communication templates.
• Lead after-action reviews following incidents and ensure findings and lessons learned are incorporated into plans and procedures.
• Lead special projects and cross-functional risk initiatives.
• Advise on risk management activities and serve as a BCM subject matter expert to adjacent programs (e.g., strategic sourcing resilience, IT resilience assessments).

What you'll need (Required):
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Emergency Management, Risk Management, Engineering, or related field, with 8+ years' experience

• Master's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience may substitute for bachelor's with 8+ years

• Experience in a manufacturing, supply chain, or regulated industry environment required
• Experience with CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional – DRI International).
• Industry-standard BCM certification demonstrating competency across the BCM professional practices, or Project Management Professional (PMP)

• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams, timelines, and stakeholders across regions and time zones.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively and make sound decisions under time pressure and during high-stress situations.
• Professional proficiency in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to produce executive-quality reports, briefings, and documentation.
• Professional proficiency in Spanish is strongly preferred given the Costa Rica base location.
• Proven ability to work and influence in a matrix environment, partnering with operational, functional, and regional leadership without direct authority.
• Experience working in a global organization with cross-regional teams and multi-site operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams) with the ability to create clear charts, dashboards, and presentations.
• Ability to travel internationally up to 20% of the time, including travel to manufacturing sites, distribution centers, and corporate offices.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and drive execution with minimal day-to-day supervision.
• Strong team orientation, collaborative and adaptable in a fast-paced, complex, and evolving environment.
• Familiarity with BCM standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO 22301, DRI Professional Practices, BCI Good Practice Guidelines).
• Experience in a regulated industry (medical devices, pharmaceuticals, life sciences) is preferred.
