Civeo is hiring for a Manager, Business Applications, who will lead the planning, development, implementation, and support of the company’s business application systems across North America. This role is responsible for overseeing a portfolio of applications and services, while providing leadership, coaching, and direction to Business Systems Analysts to ensure high-quality service delivery and operational excellence. Responsibilities include aligning IT solutions with business objectives, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring systems are reliable, scalable, and compliant with performance and security standards. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to drive initiatives while maintaining a focus on operational execution and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, deployment, and support of business applications and system enhancements.
- Oversee the performance, availability, capacity, and lifecycle management of mission-critical business applications and services.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document functional and technical requirements.
- Ensure system integrations meet functional requirements, compliance standards, and technical specifications.
- Evaluate application effectiveness and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
- Support delivery of operational and corporate projects aligned with project management methodologies and business priorities.
- Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and timelines, ensuring alignment with business needs.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects and operational activities, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
- Develop and maintain operational plans to support application services and optimize resource utilization.
- Ensure adherence to project governance, documentation standards, and formal change management processes.
- Lead, coach, and mentor Business Systems Analysts and application team members.
- Oversee hiring, performance management, and career development for direct reports.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance work environment aligned with company values.
- Provide technical leadership and direction across projects, enhancements, and system support activities.
- Collaborate with business leaders to align application services with operational priorities and address urgent issues.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and vendors to support business objectives.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels and provide high-quality customer service.
- Lead efforts to improve business processes through technology, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain standards for application development, documentation, and system governance.
- Ensure production systems are maintained, supported, and enhanced in accordance with company standards and change control processes.
- Analyze and assess new or enhanced application functionality and provide recommendations to support business needs.

- Undergraduate degree in IT, Business, or other related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience managing Business Systems Applications
- 5+ years of direct leadership experience managing application support teams through business analysis, resource management, hiring, performance reviews, time management, and training plans.
- Knowledge of all aspects of design and module configuration; process improvement; standards development; principles and practices of application software installation and support
- Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional projects, enterprise-level service delivery and operational initiatives.
- Demonstrated strengths in negotiation, budgeting, planning, organizing, and delegating.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including superior critical thinking skills and decision-making confidence.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills coupled with strong verbal and written communication and demonstrated commitment to customer experience.
- Strong presentation skills including ability to present technical material to audiences with varying degrees of technical competence.
- Ability to present business and financial concepts and project status in language understood by internal stakeholders
- Ability to simultaneously manage multiple complex projects
- Ability to develop metrics and manage benchmarks
- ERP experience is an asset
Qualifications:

Responsibilities1
- Define how
the scope, goals, and deliverables of business systems analysis &
development projects should support business goals, in collaboration with senior
management, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems
issues. - Work
closely with internal stakeholders to capture, analyze and document business
and functional requirements. - Review and
analyze existing application effectiveness and efficiency, and then develop
strategies for improving or leveraging these systems. - Lead
pre-testing phase of development by evaluating proposals in order to identify
potential problem areas and make the appropriate recommendations. - Collaborate
and partner with Business and IT management to prioritize tasks and schedule
activities. - Maintain
and transform all strategies in operational plans according to business
priorities and within budget. - Manage the
development and deployment of new applications, systems software, and/or
enhancements to existing applications. - Ensure
that any new software integration into company systems meets functional
requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications. - Coordinate
feasibility studies for software and system products under consideration for
purchase, and give advice based on findings. - Research
and make recommendations on software products and services in support of
procurement and development efforts. - Collaborate
with analysts, developers, and system owners in the testing of new software
programs and applications. - Manage and
provide direction for the business applications team in support of business
operations, including coaching, mentoring team members. - Work with
operating divisions and corporate to improve operations, reduce costs, and
drive efficiencies. - Provide
technical leadership to project managers and analysts working on development
project teams. - Develop
and maintain standards of project planning, and all application and systems
documentation, ensuring that plans and documentation are kept up to date at all
times. - Ensure
projects are delivered with best practices, reusability of code, and an
understanding of how to use technology to best meet business needs. - Design,
develop, and install enhancements and upgrades to systems and application
software. - Cultivate,
disseminate, and enforce functional policies, procedures, and quality assurance
best practices. - Ensure
that all production systems are supported and maintained according to company
standards for quality, and that requests for amendments and enhancements are
properly authorized, change managed, and implemented in accordance with
installation, release, and change control standards. - Provide
expert knowledge and processes for the provision of development tools and
techniques. - Provide
input to the budget for the Business Applications function; Regularly review
budget/forecast/actuals.
