About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and collaborative leader to join our team as a Manager, Biostatistics Financial Operations. In this role, you will lead a team responsible for providing financial support and operational management across a diverse portfolio of projects. You will play a key role in driving project financial success, supporting study proposals and bids, and partnering with cross-functional teams and sponsors to ensure high-quality delivery.

What You’ll Do

Team Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team through coaching, goal setting, performance management, and professional development.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, employee engagement, and succession planning activities.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.
  • Support staff development through mentoring and training in project financial and project management practices.

Financial & Project Oversight

  • Oversee financial management activities for complex projects and large-scale programs.
  • Serve as a financial lead or biostatistics project lead on select studies.
  • Support proposal development, bid preparation, and budget revisions.
  • Monitor project scope, timelines, resources, and financial performance to ensure successful delivery.
  • Lead risk management activities by identifying, escalating, and resolving project risks.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with sponsors and internal stakeholders on project status, timelines, budgets, contracts, and operational planning.
  • Ensure adherence to departmental delivery processes, scientific standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and help drive operational excellence across the department.

Operational Excellence

  • Manage resource planning, utilization, and delivery tracking across projects.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Provide leadership and strategic guidance for departmental initiatives and process improvements.

What We’re Looking For

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Approximately 8+ years of related experience in biostatistics, clinical research, or financial/project management.
  • At least 2 years of people management experience.
  • Experience leading complex projects and multidisciplinary teams in a clinical or pharmaceutical environment.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong leadership and team development skills with the ability to motivate and mentor others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of clinical biostatistics, SAS, drug development processes, and FDA regulations.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Positive, proactive approach with strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to navigate change and uncertainty while driving positive outcomes.

Work Environment

  • Office-based work environment with standard office equipment.
  • Frequent domestic and international travel may be required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and deadlines.
