About the Role

BDO’s Audit practice is a major player within the local marketplace, auditing many of Australia’s leading public and private sector organisations across a diverse industry base.

Our thriving audit practice works with and provides services to some of the most exciting,establishedand emerging companies. You will have the opportunity to work in a high performing team on a diverse client base with exposure to challenging work in a cross section of industries.

Key Responsibilities:

Managing audit engagements which include initial engagement planning, analysis of controls and processes, preparation and review of audit documentations and management letters and reports and monitoring of engagement progress against budget and timeline. 

  • Ensuring engagement compliance with audit, accounting, ethical standards, legislation, and BDO policies. 

  • Critically assess and enhance audit planning documentation for complex engagements. 

  • Timely sign-off on all reporting anddemonstrateability to write complex client documents, including technical accounting matters. 

  • Elevating BDO's profile through marketing channels like seminars, webinars, newsletters, and social media. 

  • Ensuring compliance with BDO independence, client acceptance, and continuance policies, and attend to risk management and quality control procedures. 

  • Developing andmaintaininglong-term client relationship andidentifyingbusiness development opportunities 

  • Coaching and developing team members to achieve technical competencies and efficient performance 

  • Review working papers, audit queries,correspondenceand reports prepared by the team to ensure compliance with audit plan,proceduresandappropriate qualityof work 

About You

  • Significant experienceof delivering audit and other assurance services to clients in a range of sectors, including APRA-regulated superannuation and wealth management entities

  • CA/CPA qualified or equivalent  

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, leadership, and multitasking skills  

  • Excellent working knowledge of Australian and International GAAS, IFRS and Financial Reporting requirements 

  • Business development experience - able toidentifyand convert opportunities to sell work. 

  • Proven experience in managing a wide portfolio of concurrent projects and project teams in a project management framework. 

  • Managing and monitoring audit engagement economics. 

  • Previousexperience in supporting and managing a team.
