What You’ll Do:
Responsible for the site operation at the customer’s location; this includes driver, office, and customer related issues. Assists Transportation Manager to help create a sense of partnership between the customer and USX.

  • Manages equipment utilization.
  • Manages all aspects related to drivers.
  • Manages office staff personnel.
  • Provides on-time service.
  • Assists Transportation Manager with the following:
  • Customer shipping needs
  • Accounting for all shipments via a weekly service report.
  • Developing a sense of trust and integrity with the customer.
  • Assuring all fleet maintenance programs are current on tractors and trailers.
  • Documenting and communicating all service related issues.
  • Analyzing volume figures to forecast surges in business.
  • Reviewing all credit, collection, and aging reports to increase cash flow.
  • Coordinating lot checks and review for stale trailers/
  • Performs job performance evaluations and takes necessary actions to assure employees are working at capacity.
  • Ensures customer service and on-time delivery are achieved.
  • Participate in rotational off-site on-call duty (possible nights/weekends).

Performs any other duties assigned based on customer or business needs

What We’re Looking For:
Education

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience required. Equivalent years of experience are defined as one year of professional experience for each year of college requested.
  • Experience

    • Minimum of 4 to 5 years of retail or logistics experience required.

    Skills/Certifications

    • Knowledge of regulations impacting daily operations (DOT hours of service).
    • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficient in Word and Excel.
    • Able to think “outside the box”.
    • Must be able to adapt to policy and operational changes.
    • Willing to get involved and be assertive.

    Takes initiative and understands the distribution process.

    Work Environment / Physical Requirements – Normal office settings.
