
[What the role is]
As Manager / Assistant Manager, Finance Services of the Communicable Diseases Agency (CDA), you will support the Assistant Director, Finance Services and Deputy Director, Finance in the management of the finance function.
You will be working in a fast-paced and highly volatile environment that will require you to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities concurrently.
[What you will be working on]
You will play a key role in the Finance team of the CDA. Your key responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:
Manage financial operations (including payments and collections) and fixed assets to ensure accuracy, promptness and compliance with Government Instruction Manuals and standard operating procedures
Support in the fee review exercise by collating and analysing inputs from CDA Divisions
Partner and guide internal stakeholders on internal financial processes to ensure compliance and seek continuous improvement based on feedback to enhance efficiency.
Identify areas to leverage on technology and develop capabilities to improve work processes and insights for financial analysis
Handle tax filing of GST returns and work with tax consultants/IRAS on tax matters
Undertake ad hoc projects as assigned by supervisor as part of staff development
[What we are looking for]
Job requirements
Background in Accountancy and/or is a Chartered Accountant/Certified Public Accountant
Preferably 1-2 years of experience in managing key finance functions and preparation of full set of accounts, including group accounts, of statutory boards or private sector companies as well as managing the external audit process
Familiarity with prevailing Statutory Board Financial Reporting Standards, Finance Government Instruction Manuals as well as best practices in financial governance and control is preferred
Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Effective stakeholder management, communication and interpersonal skills to co-create solutions
Good team player and meticulous with numbers
Independent and self-driven with the ability to multi-task in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and perform under pressure and tight timelines
Prior experience in Workday will be an added advantage
