At Pearson, we’re looking for a Manager, Assessment (T Levels) to lead the accurate and timely delivery of assessment outcomes—ensuring every learner receives results that truly reflect their efforts.

This role sits at the heart of assessment delivery, combining people leadership, operational excellence, and quality assurance in a highly regulated environment.

This role aligns with market-facing titles such as Assessment Manager, Assessment Delivery Lead, Assessment Operations Manager, or Quality & Assessment Manager.

The Role

At Pearson, we help people make measurable progress through learning. In this role, you will lead a high-performing team responsible for delivering consistent, high-quality assessment processes across T Level qualifications.

You’ll collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement—while fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, and performance.

This is a people-first leadership role, where your ability to motivate, develop, and guide a team is critical to success.

In Your First 6 Months

You’ll make impact by:

  • Building strong relationships with your team and key stakeholders
  • Embedding consistent, high-quality assessment delivery processes
  • Driving performance against KPIs and improving operational efficiency
  • Strengthening customer experience through improved query handling and insights
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance quality, accuracy, and delivery

What You’ll Do

People Leadership

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing assessment team
  • Manage performance, set objectives, and support individual growth
  • Collaborate with peers and senior leaders to deliver team and business goals

Assessment Delivery & Quality

  • Ensure accurate, timely delivery of assessment outcomes
  • Maintain high standards of quality, compliance, and awarding integrity
  • Drive continuous improvement across processes and delivery

Customer & Stakeholder Management

  • Deliver a strong customer experience through timely and accurate responses
  • Build effective relationships with internal teams, SMEs, and external partners
  • Represent Assessment in cross-functional initiatives and forums

Data & Operational Management

  • Monitor KPIs, analyse performance data, and take action to improve outcomes
  • Manage resources and contribute to effective budget oversight
  • Use insights to inform decision-making and improve service delivery

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in people management or team leadership (essential)
  • Background in assessment, education, or content delivery
  • Ability to work in a regulated, high-pressure environment
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills
  • Experience managing performance, KPIs, and operational delivery
  • Project management capability and structured approach to delivery

What Sets You Apart (Nice to Have)

  • Experience with T Levels or vocational qualifications
  • Exposure to awarding processes or assessment methodologies
  • Experience working with contractors or subject matter experts
  • Continuous improvement mindset and process optimisation experience
  • Confidence using data and technology to drive better outcomes

Location & Work Setup

This is a full-time role within Pearson Qualifications, with a hybrid working model (location to be confirmed based on business needs).
