Job Description

The International Mission Board is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Manager, Accounts Payable & Casualty Insurance to lead our U.S. accounts payable operations and oversee corporate liability insurance. This role is responsible for ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial processes while providing strong leadership to a high-performing team.

The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounts payable, financial operations, and liability insurance management, along with a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Accounts Payable team to deliver precise, timely, and service-driven financial operations
  • Ensure financial accuracy and integrity by reviewing and approving supplier invoices, expense reports, and other payment requests in alignment with policies and leveraging 3-way match best practices
  • Oversee corporate insurance, including liability, vehicle, property, workers’ compensation, cyber, and more
  • Own supplier lifecycle management in Workday, ensuring timely and accurate setup, maintenance, and documentation
  • Proactively resolve discrepancies with suppliers and other payment requestors
  • Safeguard financial accuracy through transaction reviews that identify and prevent duplicate or erroneous payments
  • Continuously improving operations by enhancing accounts payable processes, controls, and procedural efficiency
  • Build and develop a high-performing team through coaching and mentorship
  • Set clear expectations and accountability with goal-setting, feedback, and performance management

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
  • At least 3–5 years of accounts payable experience with supervisory experience preferred
  • Previous experience with casualty insurance, preferred
  • Experience working with ERP financial systems (Workday preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and financial controls
  • Consistently exhibits exceptional customer service skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
