Aerodrome Management Services (AMS) is a professional services company providing a wide range of technical support and aerodrome management services to aerodrome owners and operators across Australia. Our growing team of aviation specialists provides support to our clients in the areas of aerodrome design, project management and construction, maintenance, technical inspections and aerodrome surveys, operational readiness, airport security, regulatory compliance, audits and ongoing daily operations.
Our Head Office team plays a critical role in supporting our operational sites, training organisation and clients nationwide.
AMS is seeking an experienced Manager Aerodrome Operations to join our team. This role is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and operational performance of AMS-managed aerodromes and Outports, providing direct support to Aerodrome Managers and acting as a key link between our operational sites and Head Office.
The position will support the delivery of safe, reliable and compliant aerodrome operations, ensuring activities are aligned with AMS procedures, regulatory requirements, contractual obligations and customer expectations. This is a hands-on operational leadership role suited to an experienced aerodrome professional who can support operational teams, manage competing priorities and identify opportunities to improve the way we deliver our services.
The Aerodrome Operations Lead will coordinate day-to-day operations across AMS Outports, working closely with Aerodrome Managers to monitor operational performance, resolve issues and ensure consistent service delivery. The role will involve regular communication with site teams, Head Office, customers and other stakeholders, including regular visits to AMS-managed aerodromes as required.
A key part of the role will be supporting our people and workforce requirements across the Outports. This will include workforce planning, rostering, resourcing, leave planning, recruitment, training and performance management, while providing Aerodrome Managers and operational teams with practical and responsive support.
The position will support aerodrome compliance and operational readiness, including regulatory requirements, audits, emergency planning and exercises, aerodrome manuals, plans and associated documentation. You will help ensure operational teams are prepared to respond effectively to emergency situations and that compliance requirements are maintained across AMS-managed aerodromes.
The Aerodrome Operations Lead will also support the delivery of contractual obligations and customer expectations through operational reporting, performance monitoring and customer updates. The role will contribute to continuous improvement across AMS by identifying opportunities to improve operational processes and systems and will act as a subject matter expert, providing operational guidance to internal teams and stakeholders.
You are an experienced aviation professional with a sound understanding of aerodrome operations and the regulatory environment in which they operate. You will be comfortable working across operational, people, safety and customer requirements and bring a practical and proactive approach to managing day-to-day operational matters.
You will have strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with Aerodrome Managers, operational teams, customers and internal stakeholders. Strong problem-solving skills, sound judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple locations will be important to your success.
