The opportunity

The Manager Accounts Payable is responsible for contributing to the implementation and continuous improvement of AP processes to support Shared Services Organization functions in a highly complex global environment. They will participate in the business process design and delivery of solutions that support the vision and strategy of the AP department and the company’s strategic business plans. The Manager will analyze business process trends, assess the impact of emerging processes and technology enablers on current processes and propose solutions that drive performance of AP teams.

The role

  • Participate in short and long-term planning sessions with the AP senior management to implement process improvements in the assigned functional area.
  • Collaborate with business partners and AP senior management in order to provide business solutions to meet user needs.
  • Manages the development and implementation of integrated initiatives to support the business and AP strategy.
  • Promotes an understanding of AP roles, processes and activities to the business partners.
  • Interacting with internal and external AP customers to deliver a high standard of customer service.
  • Manages staff directly responsible for day-to-day activities including, but not limited to, vendor master changes, expense report audits and reporting.
  • Supports accounting functions including preparation of monthly balance sheet review documentation, monthly supplemental schedules, quarterly/annual financial rollforward schedules and supports compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley key controls.

The requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with background in Accounts Payable.
  • At least ten (10) years’ experience in an Accounting or Finance environment.
  • At least two (2) years' experience in managing large, cross-functional teams and influencing management and key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement one or more business project(s) on time and within budget.
  • Written/verbal communication and listening.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship skills.
  • Teamwork and collaboration.
