This is an exciting opportunity in Indianapolis, IN for an Accounting Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review general ledger journal entries and reconciliations.

  • Lead all aspects of and run the operations of accounting and maintenance of the general ledger.

  • Coordinate with management and across Finance organization to ensure timely and accurate monthly and quarterly financial close.

  • Review general ledger account reconciliations prepared by others to ensure that they are prepared accurately and research unusual items.

  • Provide review of monthly balance sheet and income statement for completeness and accuracy and investigate variances.

  • Maintain accounting procedures; ensure adherence to accounting policies and US GAAP; and compliance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) internal controls.

  • Assess current practices and procedures and make recommendations for improvements.

  • Develop expertise with corporate enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.

  • Work closely with internal and external auditors on financial audits and SOX internal controls testing.

  • Lead, direct and develop an accounting staff of 3-4 accountants/analysts; including hiring, performance management, development, and training staff in all departmental processes and procedures to ensure employees meet goals and expectations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent required

  • 4-6 years of validated experience in general accounting

  • Prior management or leadership experience preferred

  • Understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

  • Experience with SAP or comparable ERP system

  • Outstanding digital literacy; expertise with Microsoft Excel

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment
