Principal Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, train, motivate and evaluate performance of team members.
  • Write, update and review regional policies and SOP’s, aligning with operations and financial teams and management.
  • Coordinate the month, quarter and annual closing activities as outlined in the close checklist.
  • Post journal entries, maintain and assure that the data is properly processed in the accounting systems.
  • Lead the intercompany transactions reconciliation on a monthly basis, assuring that all balances are properly confirmed between the entities and any difference is properly addressed.
  • Lead the balance sheet and income statements account for reconciliation, research errors and work with appropriate teams and members of management to correct variances and improve processes for accounts that may have recurrent problems.
  • Support the LATAM Controller on the monthly accounts’ variation analysis.
  • When appropriated, perform quarterly review of local and reporting books differences, informing the main variances with details and documents.
  • Lead the registering and review payroll entries.
  • Control the local tax reports to each country, assuring they are properly reported according to the fiscal regulations.
  • Actively lead in internal and external audits.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate data in accounting software (Oracle EBS).
  • Complete month end duties as outlined on the close checklist or as requested.
  • Ensure appropriate internal controls are in place.
  • Contribute actively to the implementation of financial systems.
  • Perform transaction analysis to provide information to management as requested.
  • Identify and recommend process improvement initiatives for assigned areas.
  • Adapt to special projects for LATAM Controller, Regional Director of Finance or other managers and directors, as needed.
  • Other accounting and admin responsibilities and duties as assigned.
  • Degree in accounting or related career is a must.
  • Spanish and English skills (advanced level).
  • Computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, macros) and Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Experience with Oracle Financials or ERP system related.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an Accounting Manager with collections, billing and/or finance scope.
  • Experience with US GAAP.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Oriented to results.
  • Strong analytical skills (ability to recognize and resolve issues).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Portuguese skills (advanced level) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and to handle stress.
