About the position

The Manager, Academic Governance Services leads the development,implementationand continuous improvement of academic governance processes for vocational education (VE), associatedegreeand non-award offerings.

Drawing on strongexpertisein VE,HEand non-award governance, you will provide strategic advice and coordinate activities across multiple teams to ensure programscomply withinternal policies, regulatoryrequirementsand quality standards. You will interpret legislation and governance frameworks, drive process improvements, and support the development of governance approaches across a range of domestic and international contexts.

As a senior leader within the Quality and Compliance team, you willprovideexpert guidance on governance pathways and compliance requirements, assess governance readiness, exercise delegated authority for governance actions, and support internal and external audit activities.

Working closely with Directors, Program Managers, theCoVEPartnershipsteamand key stakeholders across the University, you will support program approvals, amendments, transitions and discontinuations, oversee governance workflows and reporting, and help ensure academic quality and compliance acrossCoVE'sportfolio.

This role requires exceptional stakeholder engagement, strong communication skills, and the ability to build collaborative relationships that support effective and compliant governance outcomes.

In this role, you will

  • Lead the review,developmentand implementation of academic governance processes and workflows acrossCoVE

  • Provideexpert advice on governance pathways, compliancerequirementsand program lifecycle activities, including approvals, amendments,transitionsand discontinuations.

  • Ensure new and updated offeringscomply withinternal policies, externalregulationsand quality standards.

  • Assess governance readiness,authoriseprogression through governance processes and support sound decision-making.

  • Oversee governance workflows, reporting and risk management to support effective and compliant program governance.

  • Build strong collaborative relationships andprovidetrusted guidance to stakeholders acrossCoVEand the broader University.

  • Lead and support the Academic Governance team (currently two staff).

To be successful in this position,you'llbring

  • Significant experiencein academic governance, ideally within vocational education and/or higher education.

  • Strong knowledge of governance frameworks, regulatoryrequirementsand quality assurance processes.

  • Demonstrated experience developing and improving governance processes,policiesand workflows.

  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence,collaborateand prepare high-quality reports and governance documentation.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solvingand decision-making skills, with the ability to navigate complex environments and manage governance risks.

  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities, interpret data and deliver quality outcomes within tighttimeframes
