Albemarle is hiring for a Manufacturing Controller for our Europe & Australia regions This position is hybrid and located in our Budapest office.

What You Will Do

Accountabilities

  • Manage an accurate and timely monthly closing and meet the stated deadlines and reporting needs.
  • Provide accurate and timely costs analysis for Operations Finance.
  • Maintain proper accounting processes and procedures to ensure no significant control or audit issues.
  • Support the Plant Finance teams with the Annual Operating Plan.
  • Communicate effectively with Operations Finance and other groups and departments.
  • Maintain a strong and result driven relationship with Operations Finance and all levels of management.
  • Manage multiple tasks and meet financial closing and reporting schedules.
  • Understand all financial and operating aspects of the manufacturing areas of responsibility.
  • Understand how to obtain and maintain information from the SAP modules (CO, PA, FI, Purchasing, MM) and Analysis for Office.
  • Support special projects and other M&A initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Review financial transactions to ensure compliance with government requirements and Albemarle Accounting and Internal Control Policies and Procedures.
  • Accurate and timely financial closing, including execution of corporate and site accounting and internal control procedures.
  • Maintain and optimize the Operations Finance closing procedure, working closely with Operations Finance and manufacturing plant controllers.
  • Manage and perform timely standard cost updates and assure standard cost are accurate at site level.
  • Provide accurate and timely support to the local Plant Finance teams
  • Support the preparation of Annual Operating Plan for the Europe & Australia manufacturing plants.
  • Provide concise and meaningful analysis of manufacturing operating results against budget and forecast.
  • Support manufacturing plant controller in the preparation and distribution of accounting reports and presentations to manufacturing teams and management.
  • Assist in special projects, ad hoc financial planning and analytics.
  • Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives.
  • Provide system and cost accounting process support to all global sites including training.
  • Collaborate and maintain a strong and results driven relationship with Operations Finance, FP&A Business execution, Enterprise FP&A, Corporate Controlling, other departments and all levels of management.
  • Posting standard and non-standard Journal entries.
  • Process several account reconciliations: Maintenance Turnaround, CAPV.
  • Complete SOX documentations.
  • Contributes goals to be achieved in any other tasks which are delegated by the Operations Finance Director.

What You Bring

Required:

  • Bachelor and/or Master Degree in Finance, Accountancy or Business Management
  • Minimum 4-5 years in the relevant field (Manufacturing Finance or Accounting)
  • US GAAP experience, exposure to IFRS and /or EU GAAP is a plus.
  • Thorough manufacturing finance and/or financial accounting knowledge
  • Advanced communication level in English (both written and verbal)
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word)

Preferred:

  • Collaborate and maintain a strong and results driven relationship with the Europe & Australia Finance teams, Operations Finance, FP&A Business execution, Enterprise FP&A, Corporate Accounting and all levels of management. Strong presentation skills
  • Knowledge of PowerBI and BPC
  • Good time-manager and be able to organize his/her day-to-day tasks
  • Ability to think creatively, highly driven and self-motivated
  • Good interpersonal skills
