The Health & Public Sector Industry and Enterprise team are working at the centre of high-profile transformations across the UK government and healthcare sectors. Within the practice, you will work on innovative projects with colleagues and clients to drive excellence from strategy through to implementation, making changes that directly impact citizens. This is a specialist role within our Health practice, focused on healthcare transformation for clients including NHS organisations, integrated care systems, arm's length bodies, and private health providers. As a Health & Public Sector Consulting Manager, you will:

• Work on projects across a range of health and care clients, including NHS organisations, arm's length bodies, integrated care systems, private health clients, research and regulatory bodies
• Be the face of Accenture to the client in your engagements, working with senior stakeholders to advise, challenge and coach as needed
• Develop detailed understanding of your client's business and drive issue-based discussions grounded in a clear understanding of client challenges and barriers
• Cultivate trust-based client relationships
• Identify and address client business issues through root cause analysis and by applying pragmatic, results-driven problem-solving techniques and creative insights
• Use a human-centred approach to solve problems, frame opportunities, and achieve innovation through collaboration and co-creation
• Own streams of complex work that meets client expectations on delivering value-centric, data-driven outcomes
• Lead teams to deliver excellence to the client
• Be a people leader, creating an environment your people want to work in, and managing the day to day work of your team

As well as the above, you should have experience/expertise in one or more of the following areas:

• Analytical problem-solving skills and continuous improvement techniques
• Strategic thinking skills and the ability to bring insight to complex problems
• Designing and/or implementing operating models
• Creating and/or managing complex business cases
• Working with data in the design or delivery of consulting services in the public sector
• Working with technology to design or deliver transformation of public services
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the capability to influence senior stakeholders
• Experience of working with public sector clients, either in government departments or health & care clients
• Experience driving new business in terms of strategy, relationships and identifying growth opportunities
• Experience in project & programme management methodologies and governance — including best practice industry techniques and frameworks (e.g. PRINCE2, MSP)
• Experience of delivering projects using Agile techniques and frameworks and the ability to lead Agile teams
• Ability to operate at all stages of a project/programme lifecycle, from proposal through to full programme delivery, and experience managing risks and working with senior client partners
• A background in clinical practice— this is a requirement for this role. We are looking for candidates who have direct experience of working in a clinical or healthcare delivery environment, whether through a current or previous professional registration, international clinical practice, or significant hands-on experience in a healthcare setting. You will bring an instinctive understanding of how health systems work, the pressures clinicians and operational teams face, and what good looks like from a patient and system perspective.

This role is well suited to someone who has already made the transition from full-time clinical or NHS operational work into advisory, transformation, or strategy roles — and is now looking to bring that experience into a leading global consultancy. The ideal candidate will have spent a portion of their career outside of direct clinical delivery, developing the commercial, analytical, and client-facing skills that consulting demands, while retaining a genuine connection to and credibility within the healthcare world.

Backgrounds that tend to work well include:

• Experience in an NHS transformation, strategy, or improvement function (e.g. an ICS, NHS England, NHSE/I, or equivalent)
• Roles in a health arm's length body, regulator, or policy organisation (e.g. CQC, NICE, UKHSA, DHSC)
• Advisory or commercial roles within healthcare — such as health-focused management consulting, a health tech or medtech company, or a public health advisory organisation
• Academic or research roles with a strong applied or translational focus in health systems or health policy

You do not need to hold a current clinical registration to apply — we welcome candidates whose clinical experience was earlier in their career or gained in another country, provided you can demonstrate genuine clinical grounding and a strong track record in transformation, advisory, or change delivery since.

Additional differentiators we value:

• In-depth understanding of the specific healthcare or government landscapes you have worked in
• Experience with data science or data architecture
• Experience in owning and managing relationships with senior leadership — clients or internal stakeholders
• Trained in Agile methodologies, programme or project management techniques (e.g. Prince 2, Managing Successful Programmes) and/or a Design Thinking practitioner
• Experience of using data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI, Qlik)
• Exposure to a current technology platform (e.g. Cloud, CRM, EPR/EHR systems)
• PowerPoint and Excel skills
