About the role
We are seeking a Management Accountant to provide trusted financial advice and support to our Water Services team. This is a 2-year fixed term opportunity contributing to the establishment phase of a new internal business unit, ensuring strong financial foundations and sustainable service delivery.
In this role, you’ll act as a key advisor, supporting financial planning, reporting, forecasting and performance management, while helping the organisation adapt to evolving regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
· Partner closely with the Water Systems team to deliver management reporting, budgeting and financial insights.
· Support development and implementation of the Water Services Delivery Plan and Business Plan
· Ensure readiness and compliance with economic regulation and Commerce Commission reporting requirements
· Develop systems and processes to ensure accurate, auditable and repeatable financial reporting
· Contribute to the establishment of the Water Services business unit, supporting key milestones and work programmes
· Drive continuous improvement and contribute to wider finance initiatives
About you
You are an analytical and proactive finance professional who enjoys working collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels.
You will bring:
· A relevant tertiary qualification (Degree level or equivalent) with a CA qualification (or near completion)
· Strong understanding of financial management, reporting and statutory frameworks
· Advanced excel and data analysis skills
· The ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to varied audiences
· A solution-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
