NZSki operates three stunning ski areas situated in the Southern Alps of the South Island - Coronet Peak, Mt Hutt and The Remarkables.
NZSki is locally owned by Trojan Holdings Ltd, who have a strong record of sustainable tourism development, with operations also encompassing the Hermitage Hotel in Aoraki / Mt Cook and the Milford and Routeburn walks.
The NZSki finance team operates as part of the wider Trojan Holdings Ltd finance department, which provides opportunities for future growth and career development.
About The Role
We are on the hunt for an experienced Accountant with a commercial mind to join our NZSki finance team here in Queenstown! You'll play a crucial role in driving financial excellence while working in a fast-paced industry with people who share a passion for our mountains. This key role ensures the accurate and timely delivery of financial reporting and analysis while maintaining financial records and ensuring statutory reporting and tax compliance.
This is a permanent full-time role. Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position and applicants should have current work rights.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure accurate and timely financial processes and reporting
• Statutory reporting and tax compliance
• Set up and maintenance of fixed asset register including reporting on monthly capital expenditure.
• Balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support management of the internal and external audit
• Assist with annual budgeting/planning, including templates, composition, review, and data support.
• Provide support and back up to the accounts team
About You
We are looking for someone who has the following attributes:
• Appropriate tertiary qualification – Bachelor of Commerce in Finance or Accounting (or similar)
• Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand (or overseas equivalent) is an advantage
• Proven experience (minimum three years) as an accountant, ideally within a commercial setting
• Comprehensive understanding of accounting systems with preference given to those with experience in Business Central or similar ERP.
• Comprehensive working knowledge of relevant financial/accounting legislation, risk management and taxation requirements
