Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.

Major Functions

  1. Prepare regular financial and management reports in relation to the financial performance and position of the Public Trustee and assist in the preparation and monitoring of the annual budget.
  2. Prepare the Public Trustee’s monthly, quarterly, half yearly and annual financial reports in accordance with Government Business Guidelines.
  3. Completion of day-to-day operations associated with the financial and trust accounting systems of the Public Trustee including:
  • balancing and reconciliation processes, and monitoring the daily cash flow of the organisation;
  • ensuring the correct coding of transactions that have a direct impact on the Public Trustee’s revenue;
  • implementing control systems including reconciliation of key TACT control accounts;
  • processing of payments and receipts;
  • Preparing business activity statements
  1. Assist with supervising a small team of finance officers in the performance of their duties, in the absence of the Finance Manager.
  2. Provide analytical support in all aspects of financial management and investment functions.
  3. Maintain the Public Trustee Asset Register and Depreciation Schedule.
  4. Contribute to the achievement of team objectives by participating in team projects, assisting the Finance Manager and other team members as required.

Requirements

The Head of State Service has determined that the person nominated for this vacancy is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, promotion or transfer.

The following checks are to be conducted:

  1. Pre-employment (National Police Record) checks for: Arson and fire setting, violent crimes and crimes against the person, sex-related offences, drug and alcohol related offences, crimes involving dishonesty, deception and/or conspiracy, making false declarations, malicious damage and destruction to property, serious traffic offences, crimes against public order or relating to the Administration of Law and Justice, Executive or the Legislative Power.
  2. Disciplinary action in previous employment.
  3. Identification check.

Desirable Requirements

Relevant qualifications in business, accounting and/or commerce at Diploma or Advanced Diploma level or equivalent.
