Description

About the role

We’re looking for a Management Accountant to join our Finance team in this broad and varied role, working with budget holders across the organisation. Alongside delivering management accounts, budgeting and forecasting, you’ll have the opportunity to support the financial planning of ENB’s touring productions and projects whilst developing your business partnering skills and deputising for the Head of Management Accounting when needed.

This is a hands-on role for a part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent), or someone qualified by experience, with a track record in management accounting, who takes the initiative and wants their analysis to shape decisions. If that sounds like you, we’d be delighted to hear from you!

First-round interviews will be held w/c Monday 30th November, and second-round interviews will be held on Thursday 10th December.

Your main responsibilities as Management Accountant will include:

  • Supporting the Head of Management Accounting in providing a comprehensive management accounting and business partnering service to all department budget holders.
  • Delivering accurate monthly and year end management accounts for all budget stakeholders and consolidated group management accounts, with a strong understanding of cost and income drivers and business priorities.
  • Supporting effective budgeting and forecasting processes, with provision of financial modelling for touring productions and other projects.
  • Turning financial information into actionable insight and advice, taking the initiative to identify risks, opportunities and improvements.
  • Working as a team with the wider Finance team to support work relating to year end statutory accounts and compliance, including Theatre Tax Relief.
  • Taking ownership of the accuracy and quality of all work produced and managing your own learning and development in the role to ensure effective skill and knowledge development and a thorough understanding of the business.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Experience of preparing management accounts, budgets and forecasts, including variance analysis and clear commentary.
  • Strong analytical skills, using advanced Excel and sound judgement to turn financial information into clear insight and practical recommendations.
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail, taking ownership of the quality of your work before it is shared.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to explain financial information clearly and succinctly to senior, non-finance managers.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with budget holders and senior stakeholders, offering constructive challenge and owning issues through to resolution.
