The Premier League’s Finance department is looking for two qualified management accountants to join the team and provide business partnering support to various Premier League departments, and the other role will be managing the finances of affiliated companies including Premier League Foundation and Premier League International entities.

This fixed-term role has been created to provide additional resource to the Finance team during the transition to a new accounting system. The role will help ensure continuity of day-to-day finance operations while assisting with ad hoc activities associated with the successful implementation of the new system.

We support and provide a framework for youth development, we protect the organisation’s intellectual property, support the wider game and community programmes, undertake international development work and liaise with governing bodies and other leagues.

Where possible, you will attend the office or site visits in line with our company policy. All staff liaise closely with their line manager to manage their time appropriately and according to their work and team requirements.

The Role

Support monthly and annual financial processes, including:
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Raising of accurate and timely sales invoices in line with contractual terms.
  • Post and allocate customer receipts accurately and reconcile customer accounts.
  • Support the audit process by preparing deliverables and responding to information requests.
  • Provide support to stakeholders across the business on finance related queries.
  • Involvement in ad hoc, Premier League finance and strategic projects including:
    • Assessing technical accounting considerations.
    • Involvement in finance system migration project.
  • Business partnering with various Premier League departments, including budget monitoring and responding to finance queries.

Role Requirements

  • Chartered accountancy qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc.) – up to two years post qualification.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to apply a structured approach towards balancing multiple demands and priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated and a good team player.
