Join the Mammography team at Utah Valley Hospital and help provide high-quality breast imaging services to patients in a supportive, patient-centered environment.

This PRN position helps provide coverage for scheduled time off, call-outs, and other staffing needs within the department. Shifts may vary based on department needs and can include:

  • Monday–Friday schedules
  • 8-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM)
  • 12-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 6:30 PM)

As a Mammography Technologist, you'll perform both screening and diagnostic mammography exams while working closely with radiologists, physicians, and other members of the care team. You'll play an important role in ensuring patients receive accurate imaging and a positive experience throughout their visit.

What You'll Do

  • Perform screening and diagnostic mammography exams according to department protocols
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images using mammography equipment
  • Perform advanced mammography procedures, including stereotactic biopsies and related procedures as appropriate
  • Verify patient identification and exam orders
  • Ensure patient comfort, education, and safety throughout the imaging process
  • Maintain compliance with MQSA, ARRT, radiation safety, infection prevention, and departmental standards
  • Complete accurate documentation and maintain patient records
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to support quality patient care

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • ARRT registration
  • Current state Radiologic Technologist license (if required in state of practice)
  • Current BLS certification for healthcare providers

Preferred Qualifications

  • ARRT Mammography certification
  • Experience in mammography

Physical Requirements

  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
  • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
  • Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
  • May be expected to stand in a stationary position for a long time.

$35.60 - $54.93
