About the opportunity:
Performs breast imaging procedures including mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, breast ultrasound and (assist) breast ultrasound biopsy. Follows MQSA and ACR guidelines for breast imaging.
This position is PRN or as needed. Eligible for 16% PRN Differential.
What you will do:

  1. Demonstrate knowledge of breast anatomy, pathological conditions and safe administration of radiation.
  2. Identifies and reviews patient’s requisition for consistency of examination ordered with clinical diagnosis and all demographic information for the physician and patient.
  3. Working knowledge of all Mammography and stereotactic equipment, examinations, and protocols, as well as procedures that require the use of contrast agents and sterile techniques. Conduct and document quality control assuring equipment is within safe limits per MQSA and ACR guidelines.
  4. Clearly communicate and educate patients prior to, during, and after breast imaging procedures to guide patients and loved ones to the next step of their breast health coordinating the continuity of care.
  5. Review and perform breast imaging examinations for technical accuracy, present completed examinations to the radiologist, and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure.
  6. May perform radiographic examinations according to Vail Health protocol.
  7. Routinely schedule breast imaging appointments and assists in coordinating breast imaging exams to ensure the quality and continuity of patient care.
  8. Assists with the management of the workflow of the department to ensure the completion of work assignments and ensures the proper patient charge.
  9. Organize, monitor, and order medical supply inventory to assure cost effective departmental spending. Acts as a team player to assist in the overall success of the department.
  10. Promotes breast health education by assisting in organizational promotional/educational events.
  11. Participates in the orientation of new employess and healthcare professionals. Maintains 24 CEU credits according to A.R.R.T. guidelines every two years and stay current with CPR certification.
  12. Role models the principals of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.

What you will need:
Experience:

  • 1 year of experience preferred. Experience in healthcare preferred.

License(s):

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) with Mammography (M) required.

Certification(s):

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Computer / Typing:

  • Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.

Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.

Pay is based upon relevant education and experience per hour.

Hourly Pay: $41.72$57.56 USD
