General Summary:
Under general supervision the Mammography Technician, performs mammography scans using all precautions for mammography scanning safety. He/she provides radiation protection to patient, staff and self by adhering to prescribed practices and safety standards while producing high quality mammography examinations consistently. The Mammography Technician will ensure to obtain good positioning, appropriate patient demographics and safe effective use of the equipment. The Mammography Technician performs procedures according to the physician's orders and notifies the Radiologist of contradictions to examinations. The individual in this position also interviews the patient and follows patient preparation procedures.
