Job Description

Under the immediate supervision of the Radiologist and Medical Imaging Manager, is responsible for performing breast imaging procedures to include performance of breast examinations as well as ultrasound and stereotactic-guided biopsy procedures. Assist in the technical orientation of cross trained Radiologic Technologist and instruct them in complex procedures. Maintain a second Mammography registry as required by federally mandated MQSA standards.

Mammography:

· Perform routine and complex breast imaging and examination procedures following departmental guidelines

· Perform required quality assurance procedures at the designated intervals as appropriate

· Instruct patients in breast self examinations as required

· Maintain a second Mammography registry with the ARRT by annually accruing required ECE's specific to Mammography education

Bone Density:

· Performs Bone Density exams per Protocol

· Helps patient on and off of the table

· Merges prior exams with current exam

HIS/RIS:

· Ensures timely reporting of exams

· Charges exams correctly

· Prints Schedules and checks Patient orders

· Confirms patient identity with two identifiers

PACS:

· Ensures all computed and digital images are properly archived on Synapse

· Scan Documents in a timely manner

· Trouble shoot as needed

· Push images to other Hospitals

· Burn Cd's/and enter Tech notes into each exam completed

Qualifications:

Graduate from an A.M.A approved school of Radiologic Technology
1 year of X-Ray Experience required. Clinical Rotations will be considered

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
Must be registered with the New Hampshire Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy
ARRT, RT (R)(M) required
