Located at our Saints Campus at Lowell General Hospital

Schedule: Mon, Tues, Thurs, Friday - 7:30am-4pm. Wednesday's off.

Job Profile

This role focuses on providing administrative and business support to the organization in order to achieve operational goals. In addition, this role focuses on performing the following General Administration duties: Produces documents, collects, records, sorts and files information, handles mail, prepares routine reports, makes travel arrangements, arranges appointments, responds to inquiries, data entry, and operates office equipment. An organizational related support or service (administrative or clerical) role or a role that focuses on support of daily business activities (e.g., technical, clinical, non-clinical) operating in a “hands on” environment. The majority of time is spent in the delivery of support services or activities, typically under supervision. An experienced level role that requires basic knowledge of job procedures and tools obtained through work experience and may require vocational or technical education. Works under moderate supervision, problems are typically of a routine nature, but may at times require interpretation or deviation from standard procedures, and communicates information that requires some explanation or interpretation.

The position performs/supervises services in the Imaging service area according to the policies, procedures, philosophy, and objectives of the department and hospitalWorks cooperatively within department and other services to create a system of quality health care.

1 High school diploma or equivalent.

2. One (1) year of applicable medical or patient care experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

1.Some college or Associate’s degree.

2. Three (3) years of applicable medical or patient care experience.

Duties and Responsibilities The duties and responsibilities listedbelow are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive listOther duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

1Maintains current knowledge in areas of assisting the Mammographer in the performance of screening and diagnostic procedures.

2. Greets patients in a timely and professional manner using language of caring and elements of complete connected care to improve patient and physician satisfaction. Consents patients to include verification of patient demographics, obtaining appropriate signatures and wrist banding

3. Confirms patient identity using name and DOB in addition to checking wrist band. Verifies proper orders in RIS system and prepares related paperwork for technologist.

4. Monitors wait times of receipt of outside images and expedite cases requiring addendums with images from outside facilitiesMake phone calls or fax to facilities, if necessary.

5. Works with mammography staff to schedules future appointments.

6. Contacts physician offices to obtain written orders with sufficient information to determine appropriate imaging and decrease insurance denials for reimbursement.

7. Monitors BIRAD results and contacts patients in need of additional exams to include mammography and ultrasound. Monitors patients who are unable to be contacted, and follow-ups with Referring physician.

8. Works closely and cooperatively with the breast health team to assure timely coordination of intra-modality imaging.

9. Communicates need of supplies regularly to supervisor to maintain adequate inventory.

10. Assist with organizing mammography history sheets and verification of patient result letters and prepare letters for mailing.

11. Assist technologist with various tasks such as transporting specimens and/or patients between modalities, other departments, or main lobby

Physical Requirements:

1. Frequent standing, occasional sitting, walking, and lifting of 30-35 lbs.

2. Requires manual dexterity using fine hand manipulation to operatemammography equipment.

3. Hearing and visual acuity sufficient to perform examinations; observe patients, read monitors and documents, and hear audible equipment alarms.
