As a Mammographer at our Leicester Hospital , you’ll bring advanced technical knowledge and the ability to work quickly and accurately. You have a great eye for detail and you’re caring by nature. As well as a BSC degree in diagnostic radiography (or equivalent), you have a postgraduate qualification in mammography.

As a Mammographer, you will:

·Deliver a high-quality diagnostic imaging service for a varied caseload

· Work with leading practitioners in the department, on the ward and in theatre

· Experience new practices, equipment and facilities

· Develop policies, procedures and junior colleagues

·See each patient as an individual and operate with understanding and empathy

· Provide a service of the highest quality, with sensitivity and compassion

Our Ideal Mammographer will have:

• High levels of technical knowledge and the ability to work quickly and accurately, with a great eye for detail.

• A caring nature – to see each patient as an individual and carry out this role with understanding and empathy.

• A BSC degree in diagnostic radiography or equivalent to meet the registration requirements of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

• A postgraduate qualification in mammography

• Post registration experience relevant to the role.

• Excellent communication and team working abilities.

The Hospital has a strong local reputation with patients remaining loyal. The Hospital had a £4.5 million refurbishment in 2011 and was the blue print for the wider Hospitals refresh programme. The Hospital has 28 ensuite inpatient beds, 2 Laminar flow theatres, Endoscopy Suite, minor treatment room and 14 consulting rooms. The hospital delivers a wide variety of inpatient and outpatient treatments and services using the best possible technologies. Since 2015 we have invested in a static MRI unit, a new digital X ray room & digital mammography. We are a local centre of excellence for Children and Young People Services. Having a Fitness & Wellbeing Gym in Leicester has led to a close working relationship and the Hospital was a forerunner for the Nuffield recovery plus programme.
