SCHEDULE: Per Diem

As a Mammography Tech, your demonstrated customer service and communication skills greatly assist you in obtaining images of good diagnostic quality while providing maximum comfort and safety to patients. Warm and comforting patient care skills are mandatory for these sensitive procedures. Performs screening and diagnostic mammogram examinations and assists the radiologist in performing mammographic procedures. This team member’s role is to obtain images of good diagnostic quality while providing maximum comfort and safety to the patient undergoing these exams.

The Rochester Regional Health Imaging Center at Bay Creek in Webster, NY, provides state-of-the-art imaging and radiology services such as X-Ray, ultrasounds, digital mammography, and DEXA scans administered with speed, convenience, and reliability. Our team is made up of experts in Imaging and Radiology, a specialty that uses imaging technology to diagnose and treat disease.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Mammography. Perform and/or assist diagnostic, screening, ultrasound, and interventional mammography procedures; perform daily and periodic Mammography Quality Assurance (QA) activities under the direct supervision of the mammography QA Technologist; monitor image quality on a continuous basis to ensure that all quality standards are met.

  • General Maintenance. Monitor equipment for proper performance and functionality; clean, restock, and prepare examination rooms on a daily basis.

  • Documentation. Complete all necessary documentation in the radiological information system (RIS) and/or patient charts.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two-year college degree in Radiologic Technologist in Applied Science or equivalent.

  • NYS license in Radiologic Technology OR must hold a NYS permit and obtain licensure within six months of employment.

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification (ARRT-R) is required within six months of employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior Radiologic Technologist experience.

  • ARRT-M Advanced Mammography Certification.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and ability to work with various software applications.

  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
