We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Male Disability Support Worker to join our team in Griffin, QLD

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to support a client with complex care needs while promoting independence, dignity, and community participation.

As a Disability Support Worker, you will:

  • Provide person-centred support tailored to the client's individual needs, including supporting a client with baseline paranoia and anxiety
  • Assist with personal care, including hygiene and continence support.
  • Support community access, appointments, and daily living activities.
  • Assist with mobility using a 4-wheel walker and, when required, a wheelchair
  • Maintain accurate progress notes and documentation.
  • Promote a safe, respectful, and empowering environment for the client.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience supporting clients with schizophrenia, acquired brain injury (ABI), generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), intellectual disability, and personality disorders (preferred).
  • Experience providing personal care, including continence and hygiene support.
  • Confidence using mobility aids such as a 4-wheel walker and wheelchair.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A compassionate, patient, and person-centred approach.
  • Flexibility to work morning, afternoon, evening, overnight, and sleepover shifts

Essential Requirements

  • Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Current Working With Children Check (Blue Card)
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card)
  • Current National Police Check via Rapid Screening
  • Current Queensland Driver's Licence (international licences are not accepted).
  • Reliable vehicle with comprehensive car insurance and current registration.
  • Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) certificates.
  • Valid passport or evidence of Australian work rights (if applicable).
  • Education qualification certificate.
