Male Disability Support Worker – Aspley, QLD

🌟 Casual Disability Support Worker – Community & Social Support

We are looking for a reliable and friendly Male Disability Support Worker to join our team in Aspley, QLD.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys helping people get out into the community, stay socially connected, and participate in activities they enjoy.

The client has a history of Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and strokes and requires support primarily with community access and social activities.

πŸ• Required Availability

We are looking for someone who can commit to the following shifts:

  • Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
  • Sunday: 7:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Flexibility to work both morning and afternoon support on weekends is required.

🧩 About the Role

Your main focus will be providing positive and engaging support during community outings and social activities.

You may assist the client with:

  • Community outings and appointments
  • Social and recreational activities
  • Getting out into the community and staying socially connected
  • Encouraging independence and participation
  • Supporting the client to enjoy activities and maintain their interests
  • Providing companionship and positive social interaction
  • Ensuring the client feels comfortable, respected, and supported while out in the community

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Male Disability Support Worker
  • Friendly, patient, and approachable
  • Reliable and responsible
  • Comfortable supporting someone in the community
  • Confident communicating and building rapport
  • Respectful and person-centred in their approach
  • Able to encourage independence while providing appropriate support
  • Comfortable working independently
  • Available to work the required weekday and weekend shifts

🧠 Experience

Experience supporting clients with the following is highly desirable:

  • Acquired Brain Injury (ABI)
  • History of strokes
  • Disability or community support
  • Community access and social support

Previous Disability Support Worker experience is preferred.

  • Previous experience in disability or community support
  • Current National Police Check
  • Current Working with Children Check / Blue Card
  • First Aid & CPR certification is advantageous
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Availability for the required shifts
