As a Major Programme Technical Delivery Lead, you'll be at the centre of that ambition, turning programme strategy into delivery reality and helping to shape the next generation of nuclear delivery.

The nuclear sector is entering a period of unprecedented investment and transformation, spanning new nuclear, advanced reactor technologies, defence infrastructure, decommissioning and clean-up programmes. We believe these challenges demand fresh thinking, stronger integration and leaders who can combine nuclear rigour with lessons learned from major infrastructure delivery.

We're looking for an exceptional technical delivery leader who wants to play a central role in building and growing WSP's major programme capability. You'll bring together multidisciplinary teams, new ways of working, governance, assurance and delivery excellence to mobilise and deliver complex, high-value programmes safely, predictably and successfully. This role is for someone energised by the opportunity to build, not maintain. You'll understand the strategic and commercial drivers behind major programmes, but your focus will remain close to programme teams, engineering and design delivery, interfaces, assurance and performance. You will help convert ambition into a scalable delivery capability while taking direct accountability for turning complex requirements into safe, assured and commercially successful outcomes.

Your role…

You'll lead the mobilisation, integration and technical delivery of major nuclear programmes, translating client requirements and programme strategy into safe, assured and commercially successful outcomes. Working closely with clients, partners and senior leaders, you will:

• Lead the transition of opportunities from pursuit and contract award through mobilisation and delivery.
• Act as Technical Delivery Lead, Deputy Programme Director or equivalent senior delivery leader on major assignments.
• Build and lead multidisciplinary teams across engineering, design, commercial, project controls, procurement, construction, environmental and assurance disciplines.
• Establish effective governance, technical assurance and decision-making frameworks for highly regulated, safety-critical environments.
• Manage complex technical and organisational interfaces across clients, partners, disciplines and supply chains.
• Create collaborative delivery cultures within alliancing, delivery partner and enterprise delivery models.
• Support major bids and strategic pursuits, ensuring technical delivery considerations are embedded from the earliest stages.
• Develop future technical delivery leaders through coaching, mentoring and capability building.
• Mobilise expertise from across WSP's UK and global businesses to solve complex client challenges.
• Help define a differentiated WSP approach to nuclear delivery built on technical excellence, integration, assurance and predictable outcomes.

What we are looking for you to demonstrate…

• Proven experience leading technical delivery, engineering, design or major workstreams within complex, high-value programmes in civil nuclear, defence nuclear or similarly regulated, safety-critical environments.
• Strong track record across the programme lifecycle, including strategy, optioneering, business case development, design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
• Credibility with senior clients, programme leaders and technical stakeholders, with the ability to understand strategic challenges, shape solutions and build trusted relationships.
• Experience successfully mobilising major programmes and transitioning opportunities from pursuit and contract award into delivery.
• Strong commercial and delivery acumen, with expertise in programme controls including schedule, cost, risk, governance, change management and performance improvement.
• Sound understanding of how nuclear safety, security, environmental, quality and regulatory requirements influence programme and engineering delivery.
• Experience working across complex stakeholder environments, including clients, regulators, government bodies, delivery partners, designers, constructors and specialist supply chains.
• Proven ability to build, lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams, creating clarity, alignment and high performance in complex environments.
• Experience operating within collaborative delivery models such as alliances, enterprise models, ECI, delivery partnerships or design and build arrangements.
• Good understanding of the UK civil and/or defence nuclear market, including emerging opportunities and delivery challenges.
• Knowledge of the differing delivery and assurance requirements associated with new build, operating assets, decommissioning, clean-up, fuel cycle and defence nuclear infrastructure.
• Experience of major programme frameworks and assurance approaches, including MSP/P3M, the Five Case Model, IPA Reviews or equivalent methodologies.
• Ability to obtain the security clearance required for the programmes and projects you will support.
