Looking ahead, the City is exploring an Alternative Work Schedule designed to further support employee work-life balance — providing eligible staff with two three-day weekends per month through an every-other-Friday-off model. This classification involves manual work and services for the city. An employee in this position performs routine manual work in construction, maintenance, and repair of buildings, streets, sewers, water lines and other installations; sprays foliage, trims trees, and performs other landscaping duties; assists with concrete work; installs signs and erects barricades; digs ditches; levels dirt and asphalt; and loads/unloads trucks. This position also sweeps walks; picks up litter and brush; and cleans/washes vehicles.
